LIMAB Ltd specialises in the design, manufacture and supply of non-contact laser measurement systems and sensors for use across a variety of industrial applications. Our products are designed to help customers improve efficiency and reduce their manufacturing costs through accurate, reliable measurement and process control. LIMAB measurement systems are most commonly used in the manufacture of steel, wood, gypsum board and other building/engineering materials. 

Our strength lies in our experience and understanding of our customers’ measurement requirements, and in our ability to engineer solutions that offer tangible benefits to their business (namely higher product quality and lower process costs). LIMAB’s approach is always to work alongside customers to find the best possible solution.

Steel Measuring Systems - LaserSpeed

Introducing LaserSpeed LS8000 and LS9000s, two of our most advanced non-contact measurement systems suitable for a range of applications, including those found in the tough environments of the metals industry. Both models use advanced laser-based technology to perform length and speed measurements without making contact with the material, offering accuracies to within 0.05% (or better) and repeatability of +/- 0.02%. Laser Sensors - PreciCura

PreciCura is the name given to LIMAB’s range of high-performance industrial laser distance sensors, suitable for various high accuracy gauging applications. PreciCura sensors can be used to measure a wide range of materials, including those that are soft, delicate or hot during the manufacturing process. The PreciCura range includes three sensors with 200, 2000 and 8000mm measuring ranges. All models use the principle of optical laser triangulation and will measure directly to almost any material, regardless of its colour, texture or temperature. Building Materials Measuring Systems - PreciLogger

The PreciLogger from LIMAB is an in-process width or thickness monitoring system that uses a non-contact measurement technique for part/material inspection, making it suitable for soft or fast moving materials that are traditionally difficult to measure with normal contact methods. PreciLoggers are stand-alone systems that can be used for continuous monitoring, ensuring 100% product inspection. They feature a clear, easy to read display that shows the operator the measured dimensions, as well as an alarm that sounds when measurements exceed pre-set parameters. Laser Sensors - XLR30

The XLR30 is a highly accurate long range laser distance sensor suitable for a range of industrial applications. This device is capable of measuring distances up to 30m (or up to 100m when used with a reflector). It is supplied with user-friendly set-up software that also has graphing and recording functions. The XLR30 uses the principle of comparative phase shift to measure the distance to almost any material or surface, offering accuracies to within 3mm. Laser Sensors - PreciLine Line Lasers

We offer a range of compact line projection lasers that enable operators to pre-visualise the path of a saw blade or align a work piece before a process begins. This allows faster setups and reduces material waste, thus improving overall process efficiency. PreciLine lasers are fitted in a compact M18 housing and are available in red or green with various optic options. All models use a solid state laser source which is projected through a precision cylindrical lens. Steel Measuring Systems - TubeProfiler

The TubeProfiler is a mill gauge used for measuring the shape and diameter of hot or cold rolled tubes or pipes. 24 lasers simultaneously capture the true cross section, outer diameter, shape and ovality, giving a highly accurate measurement of the profile. The system provides rolling mill operators with instant feedback, reducing mill set-up times and providing a better yield. Sawmill Measuring Systems - TSorter

The LIMAB TSorter is a non-contact width and thickness measurement system designed specifically for sorting wood in sawmills. The timber can be either in the green or dry condition, and is measured in-process on the transverse conveyor for a streamlined operation. TSorter measurement systems are accurate to within 1.0mm (width) and 0.1mm (thickness). Thickness is measured with two PreciCura sensors which use the principle of optical laser triangulation. They are capable of measuring any type of wooden material.

Sawmill Measuring Systems - BoardProfiler

BoardProfiler from LIMAB is a complete scanning system for the measurement of boards on transverse conveyors. Using a series of PreciCure high speed lasers (typically mounted every 300mm), it is able to accurately determine the entire profile of the board for grading/sorting applications or trim saw optimisation. The number and location of the sensors can be chosen by the customer to suit specific needs.
