Description

Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust (TEWV) offered an open invitation to suppliers who may wish to participate in a future opportunity to set up, manage and operate a 'Safe Haven' within York. The projected date for the successful Provider to begin the service delivery by the end of September 2017 is now currently under consideration based on the feedback received and the opportunity will now be released in the forthcoming months ; this engagement day allowed interested parties to understand the opportunity and allow open informative conversations which are now attached to this notice.

Service user engagement carried out by TEWV in 2016 on reconfiguration of recovery and rehabilitation services concluded that people in York who have mental health difficulties need somewhere to go or a place to contact that can offer them someone to talk to, someone to listen and that can give them the support they need to prevent the crisis that is on the horizon for them.

As a result future support for people in crisis is being designed and delivered as part of the multi-agency Crisis Care Concordat Implementation group who have come together to develop and implement a local action plan to improve mental health care

The approach being proposed in York has been informed by a beacon of good practice and innovation developed by North East Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG). They have operated a drop-in Safe Haven in Aldershot since April 2014.

The location identified for the safe haven is 30 Clarence Street in York.

The proposed The Haven @ 30 Clarence Street in York will operate seven days a week from 6pm - 11pm and will allow people in crisis an opportunity to de-escalate away from the situation that may be linked to their crisis, in a non-medical environment.

Tees Esk & Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust are using the feedback obtained in the generation of the service specification and interested parties should continue to access Contracts Finder for the forthcoming opportunity.

** Please note the supplier engagement day has now already taken place and this notice is only to provide an update and share Q&A's **
