The project is a new build to create a cycle hub under a design and build procurement route. The work comprise of diversion of electrical services and entail disconnection of services within the Hicks building which will have an impact on the running of that building. Detail discussions will be required with the department to ensure shut downs limit the disruption to academic activities. Further works will entail excavation of the soil to create space for reinforced wall to form the lower part of the cycle hub. The upper level will comprise of cycle storage and shower facilities. The building will be enclosed via a flat roof system incorporating the following:
• fire alarm and emergency lighting,
• general lighting, concrete floor ,
• drainage, new gas supply
• building management system
• landscaping
• signage
• windows
• automatic doors
• CCTV swipe card access
• cleaners shower cubicles
• Lockers seating bespoke mesh to cycle hub
• lower storage area.
