Wilson Process Systems Limited is a leading, global company that specialises in the contract manufacture of PCB assemblies, electronic sub-assemblies and full turn-key electro-mechanical assemblies to include in-circuit and full functional testing. Established in 1981, Wilson Process Systems Ltd originally manufactured equipment that was used to recover precious metals from photographic and other industrial processes. It has since developed and expanded year-upon-year to offer the fantastic range of services that are available today. Wilson Process Systems Ltd has many years of experience and knowledge within the industry and recognizes changes in the market and what its clients require. The team are continually evaluating and developing their services in order to meet the ever-changing and growing demands of the industry. Equipment currently meets ISO 9001:2008 approval as well as BABT, Meggitt Defence Systems, AIM Aviation and Cummins International standards. Alongside our machinery operations, we also have a team of highly skilled engineers who undertake specific hand assembly operations.
Surface Mount
Our Surface Mount Line 1 has a capacity of over 126,000 component placements per hour as well as many capabilities for package sizes (down to 0201) and fine pitch devices such as QFPs and BGAs. The Surface Mount Line 1 include Universal AdVantis AC 30 Lightning pick and place machine, Universal AdVantis AC 72 pick and place machine, BTU Paragon 98 reflow oven and SM Tech Sigma Print 500 solder paste printer.
Conventional Technology
Machines within this range include:
Soltec 6621 Prisma: a micro-processor-controlled, fully-aqueous flow soldering plant equipped with dual waves (a vibrating jet for surface mount components and a solid wave for conventional through-hole components).
Electrovert Aquastorm 100: a dual turbine, conveyorised, in-line, de-ionised, washer/drier system with extremely low contamination readings.
Soltec 6622 Delta Wave: low solids, no-clean resin, conveyorised soldering machine with foam fluxer and dual wave facility to solder mixed technology boards.
Automated Optical Inspection
Our highly skilled and qualified technicians use the Orbotech Vantage S22 post reflow AOI system for inspection processes. This new edition to our range enables us to create extremely high quality assemblies. This system has an inspection speed of up to 20cm²/sec and is designed to detect the presence and absence of components as well as to verify placement accuracy and polarity. Other processes include the detection of insufficient or excess solder, tombstoning, billboarding, coplanarity, lifted leads and shorts, automated record keeping and SPC capabilities and more. The S22 accurately repairs defects through Orbotech's Advisor products to allow true process capability measurement, SPC and effective process management.
Automatic Test Equipment
We use three suites of Marconi Midata Automatic Test Equipment for in-circuit testing and board set-up to meet most customer or product-specific testing that is required. Our automatic test equipment enables us to deliver direct zero-defect 'ship to use' products for immediate use by the customer. We also use a Checksum manufacturing defect analyser with a 600 node capability as well as in-house soak-testing facilities. For further details about our services, please visit our website or contact a member of the team at Wilson Process Systems Limited who will be able to answer any questions you may have and offer advice on systems that may be suitable for your applications.
