Kaizen Technology Ltd

Kaizen Technology is an ISO9001-accredited electronics manufacturer in business since 2005. We assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) as well as procuring parts for other businesses, engaging in box builds, designing turnkey solutions, and running an electronics testing service.

Our products are used in a range of markets – automotive, broadcast, IOT, lighting, and various scientific fields. We can build prototypes at short notice and we can produce medium-scale PCB orders. We also have two Chinese partners to whom we refer our clients for large-scale production runs. PCB prototyping can therefore be done quickly and effectively in the UK before a smooth transition to a high-volume Chinese manufacturer with economic returns on investment.

Kaizen is dedicated to investing not only in our own infrastructure and equipment but also our people. We are proud to offer three-year apprenticeships at our UK facility for young electrical engineers to work alongside our experienced team.

Manufacturing

Our manufacturing services include a range of key capabilities. We run a surface-mount assembly with automated and optical inspection as well as x-rays of BGAs to verify production processes. Our manufacturing process can also be used to repair and re-work non-Kaizen PCBs and similar products. And we test our PCBs within our facility while running materials procurement and management programmes, cost reduction programmes, and similar procedures. Our supply chain partnerships allow us to also offer PCB layout services, metalwork design, manufacture, and finish, screen printing and facia design, and other services.

Technology

Our facilities near Cambridge are equipped to the highest industry standards for PCB production. The surface mount production line includes a pack and place machine from the MY-series, which has the ability to place any component – fine-pitch, BGAs, QFPs, chip-scale BGAs, CSPs, flip chips, and 0201s – and combines this ability with high feeder speed and high production speed. Our production line also includes a 10-zone BTU reflow oven with wireless remote profile features, an ERSA dual-wave soldering machine, a DEK semi-automatic printer, a Blundell Cropmatic, and a Mirtec Automatic Optical Inspection.

Assembly & Test

Kaizen runs a full testing, reconfiguration, and final assembly service, for PCB and related products made by other manufacturers. Many of our clients may produce their PCB runs with overseas suppliers but, for reasons of reliability and convenience, may wish to conduct their final quality assurance tests in the UK.
