Industrial Metal Services (IMS) have established themselves as the largest stockist and supplier of steel in the south East. Based in Essex since 1975, Industrial Metal Services hold an extensive range of materials for the engineering industry and if they do not hold the customer’s specified material in stock they will ensure that they source it immediately. IMS are second to none in the industrial metal supply services and guarantee national delivery  via their fleet of 60 vehicles within one and two days although 95% of stock orders can be delivered the next day.

Industrial Metal Services hold stock such as steel sections, sheets, plates, aluminium, brass, copper and plastics within their 416,000 feet of covered warehouse. Industrial Metal Services also boast a range of additional services such as shot blasting and painting, folding, de-coiling, sawing, profiling and plasma and laser cutting.

Plasma & Laser Cutting

Plasma and laser cutting is one of the many additional services undertaken by Industrial Metal Services. IMS utilises the latest Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines with advanced feed-rate optimisation for a faster and more efficient production service. Industrial Metal Services can produce complex shapes to the customer’s specifications using drawings, CAD files and templates. We can manufacture products with a minimum plate size of 1.6mm up to 10mm and also maximum plates in 4m x 2m. Plasma and laser cutting are the best solutions for quick, efficient and precise production of multiple products over the shortest time span.

Profiling

Industrial Metal Services can easily customer metal profiling requirements for small or large scale businesses. Our state of the art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines use advanced optimisation for the quickest turnaround time whether the customer requires a one off design or multiple items. Our profiling service can produce to a minimum plate size of 4mm up to a maximum of 200mm. We stock plates in 4m x 2m and can cater to larger plates of up to 8m x 2.5m; tolerance of +/-2mm is available and plough ground is also available. IMS can create complex shapes from customer drawings, templates and CAD files.

Shot Blasting and Painting

Industrial Metal Services utilises a dedicated state of the art Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine process to meet the customer’s shot blasting and primer painting requirements. IMS have two shot blasting primer painting facilities and can offer this service to grade 2 ½. Red primer is our standard paint but other customer paint specifications are available on arrangement. The technology utilised by IMS produces a consistently even paint finish to meet our customer’s requirements. Shearing

Industrial Metal Services recognises that attention to detail is vital during the metal manufacturing process and our six in house guillotines ensure that the shearing process exactly matches customer requirements every time. Shearing is available up to a maximum length of 3000mm with a maximum thickness of 12.5mm; general tolerance is of +/- 1.5mm and tighter tolerance is available to meet customer specifications. IMS offers a fast and efficient shearing process across a wide range of materials with minimal waste and attention to detail such as grain for products that are stamped.

De-coiling

At Industrial Metal Services our years of experience and investment in machinery means that we can offer a de-coiling service that is of the highest standards to meet the most exacting of customer requirements. IMS caters for both light and heavy gauge specifications. Light gauge comes with a minimum length of 400mm up to a maximum length of 4500mm with a maximum coil width of 1500mm and maximum thickness of 2mm; length tolerance is +/- 0.5mm. Our heavy gauge service includes a minimum length of 600mm up to a maximum length of 600mm with a maximum coil width of 1525mm, a minimum thickness of 1.2mm up to a maximum thickness of 6mm; length tolerance is +/-6mm.

Sawing

Industrial Metal Services have over 35 years of experience in meeting our customer’s metal sawing requirements. Our 11 dedicated sawing machines provide a fast, accurate and efficient sawing process with square and mitre cut available depending on customer specifications. Commercial cutting tolerance is available unless otherwise agreed with the customer. We guarantee a quick and very competitive turnaround time from the customer’s order through to the delivery of the finished product. Folding

With over 35 years of metal fabrication experience, Industrial Metal Services are experts in the metal folding process including smaller precision components as well as larger deep folding requirements. IMS utilises precision in house brake presses that can fold up to 4000mm to a maximum thickness of 10mm; a general tolerance of +/-2mm is available on larger thickness.
