Performance Prepregs

Here at Gurit, we have been supplying prepregs to the wind energy and marine industries for a number of years. This has paved the way for our next generation of prepregs that have been specifically designed to make the manufacture of turbine blades even faster, easier and cheaper.

Prepregs are essentially reinforcement fibres or fabrics that have been impregnated by a pre-catalysed resin system. The resin systems in the materials react very slowly in room temperature allowing working times from days to months. Prepreg resins can be fully cured by heating them to the prescribed cure temperature.

Structural Prepregs

We also offer a wide selection of structural composite product solutions. These can be categorised into three main product groups:

  • Prepreg: range includes SE 91-1 (high tack epoxy prepreg), SE 91-2 (medium tack epoxy prepreg), AirStream™ (surface treatment to enable high quality thick laminate without de-bulk) and Long-Life Resin (latent chemistry to extend shelf-life to over two months at 35 degrees C).
  • SPRINT™: ST 93 low tack epoxy SPRINT™.
  • SparPreg™: UD carbon or glass.
