Anglo Carbon’s automotive carbon brushes are all made in the UK and comply with aftermarket and OTM specifications. We can produce in quantities ranging from small specially designed batches to high-volume consignments. Not only do we manufacture many types of alternator and starter motor brushes, we offer bearings, seals and vanes for use with compressors and with industrial and automotive pump applications. Anglo Carbon have also developed a selection of carbographite-based materials which work with an array of duty and machine cycles. The exemplary quality of our design and manufacture guarantees the performance and length of functional life of these products.
Carbon and graphite bearings are primarily employed in such high-temperature applications as ovens, as well as in food-processing plants where the possibility of contamination rules out lubricated bearings as an option. Anglo Carbon’s bearings are also suitable for centrifugal and submersible pumps, with their high resistance to liquids representing a key benefit. We supply bearings made from self-lubricating low-friction materials which can be inserted in a metal housing. If you need low-volume batches of bearings with diameters of up to 280mm, take advantage of our rapid manufacturing service which is priced at our standard rate.
Your battery electric vehicles can be fully equipped with our first-class range of specialist brushes. Whether it’s a wheelchair, a dairy milk float or a golf trolley you’re maintaining, Anglo Carbon will make the brush you need in no time at all! We’ve got special grades in copper and carbo-graphite for enhanced performance. Warehouse managers will love our narrow aisle handling system and forklift truck brushes, which are available at aftermarket, OEM and distributor levels. Anyone operating in such extreme environmental scenarios as tropical conditions or cold stores should consider the special copper graphite materials in our catalogue.
We’ve got all sorts of copper and hard carbon collectors and contactors for you to choose from. Our standard range is comprised of certain linear collectors and half-round patterns for use with drum controllers. If you wish, we can make copper and carbon contacts, protected and open system inserts, and non-standard linear collectors to your precise specifications. We can do this at very short notice and can also produce larger-scale batches by special request.
Anglo Carbon routinely stock tin-plated and plain copper terminals along with many sorts of round braided flex. Consequently, we’re able to produce highly versatile earthing connectors (frequently used for switchgear and many different industries). All earthing straps are available with a complementary array of insulating sleeves, which include colour-coded heat shrink protection. We also retail flat-braided assemblies, both as single pieces and as multiple straps.
Domestic appliance fractional horsepower brushes will increase the volume of your manufacturing capacity, especially for laminated and moulded products. Anglo Carbon also stock resin and epoxy grades compatible with contemporary high-speed motors for vacuum cleaners. Our in-house R&D department can develop new and modify existing grades to your instructions. Machine graphite is an Anglo Carbon speciality – our graphite anodes come in several designs and sizes and are intended for use when reclaiming metal. Crucibles are suitable for optical and electronic deployment when thin film deposition processes are integral. They have achieved notable success with aluminium and precious metals. Anglo Carbon moulds are available as bespoke items, and are ideal for casting precious metal bars and for diamond tooling. We also purvey components geared toward the glass and aluminium industries, include guides, dies, carbon plugs, plates, furniture for furnaces, funnels, bearing and dies.
If you use industrial carbon brushes, regular cleaning of the commutator is a must. It’s also essential that brushes are adequately bedded in before running the motor at maximum velocity. Anglo Carbon maintenance equipment includes glass fibre sticks for cleaning your commutator, as well as commutator stones to facilitate the bedding-in process.
The brushes we provide for micro-motors come in materials as diverse as silver graphite and copper. They can be used for toys, robotics, office equipment, laboratories, servo-control motors, vending machines and automotive applications.
Seals are offered in quantities ranging from individual components to large sets, made specially to order. Should you want a small number of seals (of maximum diameter of 280mm), our extra-fast manufacturing service incurs no additional charge. For orders on a bigger scale, we’ll mould parts to size before machining them for a higher-quality finish. Our seals are employed in pumps for chemical, food, domestic and automotive applications.
Vane pumps have widespread uses in gas-related applications as vacuum pumps or compressors, and also in liquids. They have many noteworthy features, possessing a high degree of mechanical strength and being extremely compressive. The pumps can operate in situations without lubrication, including vacuum, and have a low coefficient of thermal expansion. They are non-toxic and chemically inert while being resistant to the liquids being handled by them. Vane pumps have good wear resistance and are generally used for pressures up to 2 bar, with peripheral speeds as great as 12.5 metres per second being experienced.
