CORMAC Solutions manages a quarry at Castle-an-Dinas, Ludgvan, Penzance, Cornwall. The Quarry's primary function is to supply aggregates and surfacing materials to CORMAC Solutions and commercial contractors mainly in western and central Cornwall. In order to meet a fluctuating workload CORMAC Solutions wishes to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to provide contract crushing works via a framework agreement. The estimated externalised volume is expected to be between 200,000 to 250,000 tonnes per annum. The crushing operation to be undertaken by the Contractor will encompass the sorting and crushing of blasted face rock, screening crushed material and loading of the material into CORMAC Solutions' dump truck for transport to its secondary crushing plant or to stock. CORMAC Solutions is open to a pricing bid encompassing either a crushing operation fully inclusive of fuel (which will be sourced and purchased by the Contractor), or exclusive of fuel (which will be supplied at agreed rates and volumes by CORMAC Solutions). CORMAC Solutions is also keen to appoint a Contractor that is able to undertake contract crushing operations by utilising the most fuel efficient machinery. The appointed Contractor will be required to be on site for up to ten months of the year, subject to the blasting schedule and availability of feed rock. The intention is to appoint the most economically advantageous tenderer based on 30% Quality and 70% price.
