Description

The current contract for the Ealing Healthwatch service ends on 31st March 2022. Ealing is planning to tender for a new Healthwatch service over Summer 2021 with the service to commence on the 1st of April 2022 for three (3) years with an option to extend for a further two (2) years. Ealing is seeking to carry out market engagement and gather feedback from the market during June/July 2021. The annual value of the Healthwatch Service is approximately up to £140,000 per annum. The Department of Health funding specifies that the service must be carried out by an incorporated non-profit making organisation.

Ealing Council has a statutory duty to commission a local Healthwatch service within the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The purpose of a Healthwatch service is to act as a consumer champion for health and social care services, and to involve local people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of these services. Ealing is seeking a suitably qualified provider who has experience in these areas.
