Youth Promise Plus is a Birmingham and Solihull Employment Pathway Project supported by the European Social Fund and Youth Employment Initiative.

As part of the Birmingham & Solihull Youth Promise Plus project (YPP), the Council is now commissioning a supplier for the provision of the 'Birmingham & Solihull Youth Promise Plus Business Engagement for NEETs with specialist support needs (2018). This contract will commence 2nd January 2018 and complete on 30th June 2018.

The primary aim is to lead on the development of employment pathways for young people with complex needs through recruitment and effective deployment of a team of Employment Development Workers to be co-located with, and fully embedded within, a YPP Employer Engagement service managed through Birmingham City Council. The supplier of this contract will work actively in partnership with a range of other YPP delivery agencies including an existing contracted Business engagement provider. This current provider, SEETEC Ltd, will lead on development of employment pathways for Young Participants accessing the YPP project through locality delivery and outreach. The selected supplier for this new commission will deliver an aligned, similar service focusing on participants with more complex needs identified through YPP specialist providers around homeless support, known NEETs in vulnerable groups such as care leavers, those at risk of offending, those with mental health support needs and young people with learning difficulties/disabilities.

The Council is seeking a single supplier for this newly contracted service to engage actively with a range of appropriate employers in order to seek commitment from them to offer opportunities such as work experience, work shadowing and traineeships, as well as to recruit young unemployed YPP participants into substantive jobs.
