The HS2 Connectivity Programme includes a 48.6m package of improvements in Sutton Coldfield to transform the town's connectivity to HS2. Within that is 19m for the Sutton Coldfield HS2 Gateway.
This investment opportunity would deliver a new transport hub for Sutton Coldfield as well as the possibility of creating new homes and jobs in Sutton Coldfield Town Centre. It would provide an economic gateway to the HS2 station at Curzon through game-changing connectivity enhancements to/from Sutton Coldfield by bus, Sprint and rail whilst also enhancing transport integration with the wider town centre.
Please note that this project is heavily focussed on delivery of high quality urban design as a mechanism to transform integration and movement within Sutton Coldfield Town Centre. It is, therefore, expected that the commission is urban design led, with transport/highway multi-disciplinary support to deliver preliminary design, modelling and production of an outline business case.
The successful consultant will be required to deliver the following Tasks 1 - 7 within 5 months of being appointed:
Task 1 - Option Development
Task 2 - Lower Parade Bus Review
Task 3 - Consultation / Concept Design finalization
Task 4 - Preliminary Design
Task 5 - Risk
Task 6 - Microsimulation model
Task 7 - Outline Business case
Task 8 - Park and Ride (please note that this is optional and may be included, subject to availability of funding).
