The application of rubber linings forms the core of our operations. We’re able to apply a number of fully bonded, vulcanised linings onto various surfaces, giving plant and equipment essential protection against corrosion, abrasion and wear, chemicals, ozone, weathering, oils and grease, salt water, acids and alkalis. Many of our linings are also used for sound absorption, thermal insulation, electrical insulation or conductivity, portable water approval, food and FDA approval, or even just for an aesthetic finish.
Lining materials typically used by YRL include hard ebonite, soft natural rubber, SBR, neoprene, nitrile, hypalon, butyl and EPDM. Thicknesses range from 1mm to 25mm, depending on the desired effect and the type of substrate.
YRL’s range of natural, synthetic and silicone rubbers and polyurethane polymers can be applied to all sorts of rollers, drums, pulleys and wheels, improving performance and prolonging their life considerably. We’ll match your particular application with the most appropriate type of rubber, hardness and finish to give you the best possible performance.
Profiles for drums, rollers, pulleys and wheels are machined using the most advanced computer-controlled systems, ensuring an outstanding level of accuracy. Our service includes removal of worn coverings as well as the application of new ones.
In some situations, we may be able to refurbish rather than replace a worn covering, which is often a more economical solution.
While the application of rubber linings, coatings and coverings forms the core of our business, we do offer our customers a range of ancillary services, including various types of surface treatment. Treatments carried out by YRL include:
At our facility in West Yorkshire we’re able to carry out a range of engineering, fabrication and machining tasks, which allows us to take responsibility for the entire project from design and drawings through to manufacture and installation.
To remove linings from metal parts we use pryolysis, a process that safely and efficiently reduces the material to an inert level suitable for landfill. The cleaned metal parts can then be put back into service or safely scrapped.
Pyrolysis is used to break down coatings used in many industries, including rubber and plastic moulding, electric motor manufacturing, oil refining and chemicals manufacturing.
As well as a range of professional services, YRL can offer a large selection of rubber and composite products for in-house application. Stocked products include:
