Resin Bound and Resin Bonded Aggregates

The terms ‘bound’ and ‘bonded’ refer to two distinct and different types of aggregate.  Bonded aggregate, sometimes called scatter coating or coat and scatter, is spread over a surface to which adhesive has been applied.  Bonded aggregate is durable and requires little maintenance, making it suitable for just about any type of landscaping project.  Bound aggregate, sometimes referred to as hand trowelled, is mixed with a clear resin before being applied.  It is very versatile and can be used in varying thicknesses to suit requirements.  Bound aggregate is a high quality product requiring low maintenance, making it ideal for a wide range of landscaping projects.  You can see examples of our bound and bonded aggregates on our website.

Flowing Screed

Screed is defined as a levelled layer of material applied to floors, etc.  At Woodroyd Contract Services we use utilise spray and pressure pumping techniques to install calcium sulphate screeds.  In fact, we were the first company in the UK to install calcium sulphate-based screeds and have since installed tens of thousands of square metres, so you can be sure we have the experience and know-how needed to do the best possible job.  Calcium sulphate-based screeds are vastly superior to traditional sand cement screeds and are much quicker to install and have increased strength, resulting in smoother floors.  With a faster drying time, treated surfaces can be ready for access quickly, often within 24 hours.  With good thermal conductivity, our flowing screed is especially well suited for use with under floor heating.
