CNC Sliding Head Machines

At our manufacturing facility in North Devon we have 15 CNC sliding head machines with a capacity from 2mm to 32mm in diameter. Each one of these machines has driven tooling, allowing components to be finished to specification on one centre. This removes the need for any conventional second operation works, saving us time and saving you money without compromising on quality. All 15 of our CNC sliding head machines have magazine bar loaders which maximise running efficiency and allow for lights-out operation when required. CNC Twin Spindle

Our North Devon manufacturing facility is fully equipped with 20 twin turret, twin spindle machines fitted with a combination of gantry loaders and magazine bar loaders, allowing us to produce components from castings, billets or bar. Maximum capacity is 75mm diameter on magazine bar loaders and 80mm on the gantry loaders. The availability of driven tooling on the majority of our twin spindle machines means most components can be produced to specifications within one operation, offering significant savings for the customer.

Multi Spindle Autos

We have more than 20 Wickman Multi-Spindle Autos that enable us to manufacture parts from 5/8” to 1 ¾” in diameter. Although these are the oldest machines in our factory, they are extremely well-maintained and constantly upgraded, and are therefore still a very cost-effective option for large volume orders. Gantry Loaders

Six of the twin spindle, twin turret machines that we have in our factory are fitted with either gantry or robot loading machines. These are ideally suited to loading billeted or cast material, giving our customers greater flexibility in how their components are produced. Magazine Bar Loaders

Most of our CNC machines are fitted with automatic feed magazine bar loaders. This greatly increases the speed and reduces the cost of production, savings which are passed on to our customers.

Toolroom

At our facility in North Devon we have our own toolroom fitted with a range of equipment. This means we are totally self-sufficient in all aspects of tooling and are able to respond quickly to all our shop floor and customer requirements.

Quality

At West End Precision we are totally committed to quality – both in terms of the components we produce and the service we provide. This commitment is driven by the company’s senior management team and is communicated to all employees within the business. 

To ensure the quality of our turned parts, we use the latest testing and inspection equipment which is regularly calibrated to guarantee accuracy. We have three TESA Scan Optical checking units, one Aberlink CMM Federal Formscan Roundness Checker, one Baty R14 with Quadracheck Mitutoyo SJ400 Surface Finish Checker and a comprehensive range of standard measuring equipment, including various micrometers and gauges.

Our total manufacturing capacity is as follows:

• 15 x CNC Sliding Head Machines (Tsugami, Nomura, Citizen & Star) with Driven Tooling and IEMCA/LNS Magazine Bar Loaders. Maximum capacity is 32mm dia.
• 23 x CNC Twin Spindle Lathes (Nakamura, Mazak, Doosan & Takisawa). Maximum capacity is 75mm (bar dia.) or 80mm (billet dia.)
• 13 x Conventional CNC Turning Machines (Mazak, Hitachi, Seiki) with IEMCA Magazine Bar Feeds. Maximum capacity is 75mm dia.
• 22 x Wickman Multi-Spindle Bar Autos. For bars measuring 5/8” to 1 ¾” dia.  
• 2 x Twin Pallet CNC Horizontal Milling Centres. With C-axis workpiece capacity up to 1000mm x 950mm x 750mm
• 6 x CNC Horizontal Milling Centres With C-axis workpiece capacity up to 1000mm x 950mm x 750mm
• 4 x 4-Axes CNC Vertical Milling Machines (Bridgeport, Howa, Robodrill). Workpiece Capacity up to 500mm x 340mm x 400mm.
• 4 x Centreless Grinders (Wickman, Scrivener & Cincinnati). Maximum capacity is 100mm dia. 
• 10 x Gear Cutters (Sykes, Churchill & Maxicut). Up to 175mm Diameter with 4DP or 6.3 Module max
• 2 x Profilators (Wera) with Vertical or Horizontal Heads and Profile Copying Attachments.
