Design & Tool Making

Once the design stage has been finalised we start the tool making process. Our tool shop team are extremely accomplished and each individual order is given our craftsmen’s personal attention and is turnaround in the shortest possible time. We are able to undertake tooling for wood, resin or temperature controlled aluminium.  Our tooling is of the highest quality and we are able to take orders for both small and large production runs as well as produce prototypes. Our engineers are able to offer advice to our clients on any aspect of the process and we guarantee that the finished product will be cost effective in terms of both design and the materials for the specific job.

Thermoforming

Thermoforming is the application of heat and other technical processes to shape a sheet of material. Thermoformaing can be carried out in a few ways, the most common of which is Vacuum forming, however we also offer Pressure Forming, as well as blow moulding and drape forming.

Our tool makers are amongst the best in the industry and we use mould tools made of wood, urethane resin, fiberglass and aluminium. Furthermore the equipment we use for the temperature control of mould tools is state of the art and we always use the best tools and machinery available in our work.

Finishing and Assembly

The finishing stage of any job is just as important as any other element and our skilled engineers take great pride in making sure the final product received by our customers is of the highest quality.

Our Linear Drive CNC technology is able to produce incredibly accurate results and super fast repeatable quality, whilst also using our tandem tables, shuttle tables and multi-tool changing technology to enhance the process. If necessary, a member of our skilled team will hand finished a job and we are also able to quickly and effectively specialist coat your component or apply screen printed graphics, guaranteeing a perfect finish every time.

Our assembly department offers a clean and professional environment in which to pack your goods and our team have many years experience handling and packing unusually shaped and delicate components.

Seaborne Plastics were one the first companies in our industry to be awarded the ISO 9001 and since then we have gone on to achieve the ISO 14001 accreditation. Environmental practices and management systems are very important to us and we are aware that our business and the activities it undertakes will have an impact on the environment. We responsibly administer our facilities and work to prevent pollution where possible as well as training our staff in this area.  We are proud of our commitment to environmental control and we try and manage our impact on a daily basis.
