Cables

Scorpion Oceanics is an approved UK agent for Cortland Company Inc, a market-leading manufacturer of lightweight rope, slings, cables and umbilicals designed for use in the marine, subsea, oil and gas, ROV, aerostat, seismic, defence and medical industries. Amongst their exceptional range of products is HiWire®, an insulated electrical conductor that provides outstanding axial and radial compliance in environments where the cable is subject to severe dynamic stress. We are also able to offer their multi-conductor cables with purpose built strain terminations to suit all manner of applications.

Cable Grips

Also available from Scorpion Oceanics is Cortland’s class-leading range of cable grips, which can be used as permanent or temporary attachment points on all types of cable or rope. A number of sizes are available, and these can be tailored to suit almost any individual requirement. Just let us know the umbilical or rope diameter when ordering and we will select a tail length to match. All cable grips are supplied with either a removable galvanised steel thimble or a double-reinforced soft eye (unless specified otherwise). Mouldings

Scorpion Oceanics can provide both polyethylene and polyurethane mouldings for the termination of cables and connectors and the encapsulation of electronic packages such as hydrophones. Both materials can be applied to a range of substrates commonly used in underwater applications.
