Pipetman Tips

To complement the Pipetman® pipette range we offer a full selection of Gilson Pipetman® tips, all of which are made from pure translucent polypropylene with no additives or dyes. Tips are compatible with all models of Pipetman® pipettes. Fine point Diamond® tip geometry ensures maximum accuracy, while volume graduations make it easy to visually check the volume pipetted. Integra Viaflo 96

The Integra Viaflo 96 is a brand new concept in 96 well pipetting. It’s affordable, easy to use and makes 96 channel pipetting as simple as manual single channel pipetting. Viaflo 96 performs all tasks in multiwell format, including transfer of reagents and compounds from plate to plate or within plates, serial dilutions by columns and dissolution or re-suspension of solid compounds. It is used just like a handheld pipette but the movement and positioning of the head is supported by a variable, servo-assisted steering mechanism that enables fast and precise multichannel pipetting. RV10

RV10 rotary evaporators from world-class manufacturer IKA set the standard for safety, efficiency and ease of use. Each model features a special lifting mechanism that raises the evaporator piston from the heating bath in the event of a power failure. Other safety features include interval operation, smooth start, end position recognition for the piston and a timer function. Digital RV10s also offer a convenient temperature display and an RS232 interface, while Control versions come complete with integrated vacuum controllers, USB interfaces and graphical displays.

Automated Cleaning In Washing Machines

SLS offers a comprehensive range of neodisher® detergents for laboratory glassware cleaning. The following products are intended for use in all Miele washing machines and are suitable for almost all materials. 

• neodisher® LaboClean FLA – an alkaline liquid detergent suitable for the removal of organic residues, oils and creams. 
• neodisher® LaboClean FT – an alkaline liquid detergent which is particularly effective in the removal of tissue culture media and residues, blood, proteins and radioactive contaminants. 
• neodisher® LaboClean A8 – an alkaline powdered detergent for general cleaning applications. 
• neodisher® LaboClean GK – a mild alkaline powdered detergent offering high cleaning performance in microbiology and virology, cell and tissue culture and nuclear medicine/isotope laboratories. 

Pre and Post Wash Treatments

neodisher® pre and post-wash treatments are designed to help remove more aggressive contamination whilst also eliminating any detergent residues. 

• neodisher® N – an acid neutralising liquid cleaner and pre-treatment based on phosphoric acid. Also helps reduce the build up of lime scales and provides streak-free glassware.
• neodisher® Z – an acid neutralising liquid cleaner and pre-treatment with less than 10ppm phosphate and free of surfactant. Not suitable for non-ferrous materials, including chrome, nickel plating and anodised aluminium. 

Manual or Pre-Cleaning

Also available are a range of manual cleaning / pre-soak detergents for use prior to machine washing. These are:

• neodisher® LM2 – a general purpose detergent for use in ultrasonic and immersion baths, as well as for wet autoclaving of laboratory glassware. 
• neodisher® LM3 – a general purpose glassware cleaner with a low foam wetting agent that’s highly effective in removing various contaminants. 
• neodisher® LM10 – a chlorine and phosphate based cleaning agent which is highly effective against a wide range of stubborn residues. 

Stainless Steel Cleaning

neodisher® Neoblank is a mineral oil based stainless steel cleaner designed to remove all marks and contamination from stainless steel surfaces. It can also be used on surfaces or in equipment with stainless steel interiors. Neoblank is completely free from fluorocarbons and is suitable for use in the food and pharmaceutical industry thanks to its composition of highly purified food grade mineral oils. It is available as a ready to use spray or as a liquid.

Kjeldahl Analysis

Kjeldahl analysis is the standard method for calculating protein content in food, beverages and animal feed, and has been adapted to serve as the standard method of nitrogen analysis in the pharmaceutical, chemical, agricultural and environmental industries. Hydrolysis and Extraction Systems

Also available from Buchi is a range of extraction (sample preparation) solutions for the subsequent analysis of ingredients in food, feed, industrial and environmental samples. The range covers Hot, Warm, Randall, Goldfish and the Standard Soxhlet extraction techniques. All Soxhlet extraction procedures operate in accordance with the recognised methods, including §64 LFBG (Weibull-Stoldt) and AOAC Acid Hydrolysis Method (Hydrolysis Unit B-411).

Evaporation

Encapsulation

Encapsulation refers to the immobilisation of active ingredients within a polymer matrix bead or capsule. This can include enzymes, drugs, flavours and fragrances, oils, vitamins, cells and microbes which, once encapsulated, can be diffused through the polymer matrix barrier. These matrices can include alginate, carrageen, chitosan, cellulose sulphate, gelatine or pectin and waxes. 

Buchi offers two small scale encapsulators designed for feasibility studies or small scale production. Both of these can bead and encapsulate within the same instrument. The B-390 is aimed at applications where encapsulation is performed under open conditions and sterility is not essential, while the B-395 Pro is specifically designed to operate under closed and sterile conditions. 

Spray Drying

Spray drying is a method of converting a solution, suspension or emulsion into a solid powder. It is widely used in the production of food and feed, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and in material science. Buchi’s range of spray drying systems are aimed at small-scale applications such as feasibility studies, parameter optimisation and production of small powder batches. They can also be used for the gentle drying of natural product dyestuffs, the isolation of pharmaceutical agents and the micro-encapsulation of flavours.
