The growth of the Martor business is mapped out via the innovative and patented safety features found in its knives. In 1976 it was first to develop and patent the automatic blade retraction concept. It was introduced with the original Profi. What followed was a variety of safety cutters that benefitted from this technology. Since then other innovative patents have been successfully applied for including the fully auto retracting blade system which is present in the Martego, Merak, Megasafe and the very new Secupro 625.

Helmut Beermann started Martor KG in 1940 with the production of razor blades. The real growth began in the 1960's when do-it-yourself created a surge in demand for safety knives and cutters for domestic use.
This safety level 2 knife (changeable concealed bladed knife) has been designed especially for the warehouse environment. It features an innovative double headed “fingersafe" blade and comes with a spare held in the handle. It can be used to cut all standard materials, from foil to plastic, and from paper to double-ply cardboard. The 0.30 mm blade is thin enough to cut through most materials and with the featured ‘ears’ is ideal for opening tape sealed boxes. The knife and blades are "GS tested for safety".
This general purpose safety knife features a spring back blade (safety level 4). With the body made from aluminium it is based on the Profi Original but with improvements including the fact it is suitable for both left and right handed use. There are several blades available beyond the installed trapezoid blade 99. The knife and blades are "GS tested for safety".
This is a safety level 3 knife and forms part of the new generation of Martor safety knives that encompasses the patented fully automatic blade retraction system. Alongside the Megasafe and joining this family of safety knives is the Martego and the Merak. The Megasafe can accommodate both dull tipped and hooked blades. The Knife is suitable for cutting virtually any type of material. The ergonomically styled heavy-duty cutter is made of aluminium. This safety feature of a spring loaded blade that retracts instantly when blade edge contact is lost - even if and when the user holds on to the blade slider - makes this range of cutters very safe. This special safety paper ripper with spring-loaded hook guard was developed in close coordination with a renowned paper mill to remove residual paper layers from roll cores, reject rolls, mandrels, etc. The ripper hook made of forged round bar stock has a ground bevel edge for use with thick paper grades, and an angle adjust screw setting allowing the cutting depth to be varied for different paper thicknesses. The handy wall mounting bracket helps to keep this valuable piece of equipment in easy reach.
It also benefits from our improved safety innovations and concepts (GS tested for safety) with a hook guard that snaps back into the point safe position as soon as contact is lost, avoiding accidents from the very sharp ripper hook.
This safety level 2 knife is designed for cutting webs of foil, film, and foam. The knife is made of reinforced plastic and has a Teflon-coated metal foot which ensures it is both abrasion resistant and easy to slide. It works on the same principle as the Snitty 43057 and the paper cutting Couppy No. 43136. The integrated hold-down skid flattens the material ahead of the blade edge. it comes with replaceable 4 cutting edge blade and is designed for ease of use by right- and left- handers. These signal red fixed-blades are emergency seat belt cutters, with a Velcro-fastener for convenient attachment. The test cards are used whenever the metal detector‘s setting for foreign matter is to be checked (in this case, the metal-detectable plastic of the knives). To conduct this test it is necessary to pass a part of the knife, along with the product that is being produced, through the detector.
An alternative business card test set (No. 9910) is a available at a very attractive price. Both sets of test cards avoid the previously arduous task of cutting up and destroying one or more knives to carry out tests, which cost exponentially more than the low cost of these test cards, and increased the risk of tiny plastic particles breaking off and remaining in the production process.

The blade-lock of this model is identical with that of our Cuttograf models. The palm-fit bulb-shaped twist-and-lock handle provides a perfect palm-fit and less tiring and non-bruising work. The red end slider and grip is also useable as fitting edge to help you get a clean, quick and accurate cut every time.
This lightweight knife with its manually extending and manually retracting blade is very suitable for cutting samples and for craft work. It features a multi-positional blade, and very easy blade change.

This is a very lightweight safety level 4 knife. The reinforced plastic handle makes this a very durable cutting tool. Its ergonomic shape and squeeze lever action to activate the blade considerably broadens the use of this knife over the normal thumb slide models. In addition to its use as a general cutting tool it has found favour with maintenance staff.
