Hand Stitcher

The Newlong NP7A is a high quality bag stitcher ideal for closing all kinds of paper, PVC, jute, polypropylene and woven sacks. This superb machine comes with a built-in thread trimmer as standard - it also has an integrated oil pump lubrication system that ensures correct oiling of all moving parts, maximising the machine’s service life. The NP7A is quick and easy to use, and it’s capable of sealing up to 100 bags per hour.

Sewing Head

The Newlong DS9 is one of the most versatile sewing heads available on the market. It can be used to close paper, polypropylene, woven, jute or any other type of open-mouthed sack, and with a maximum speed of 2700 rpm it has the potential to really maximise productivity and improve cost-efficiency.

Heat Sealer

Introducing the Saxon ‘Hot Air’ Continuous Heat Sealer, a system that does not require expensive sealing bands and which incorporates the latest PID temperature control technology. With a simple digital temperature display you can accurately control the sealing process and make variations according to the thickness of the material.

Every part of this machine is fully accessible for maintenance and many are designed on a “plug in” modular replacement basis.

The Saxon ‘Hot Air’ Continuous Heat Sealer can be used as a free-standing unit on an adjustable column and mobile trolley, or incorporated within a conveyor system.

John Gatward Packaging carries an extensive range of spare parts (including needles and Union Special Needles) for Fischbein, Newlong and Medway stitchers, as well as for Saxon heat sealers. If you require a part, please get in touch and we’ll provide you with a quote.

Repairs & Servicing

We have a team of dedicated engineers able to service and repair virtually all makes and models of sewing head and hand stitcher. This they can do on-site at your premises or within our own fully equipped workshop (with a typical turnaround of two days). As well as ad-hoc repairs and maintenance, John Gatward can offer routine servicing contracts designed to help you keep your equipment in top condition and to ensure that it continues to perform to the level you expect.

Threads & Tape

We stock white polyester sewing thread on cones weighing 200g, 1.5kg, 2.5kg, 5kg and 10kg. These are ready for immediate delivery and are supplied in boxes averaging 30kg. We also have a limited supply of blue polyester thread on 5kg and 10kg cones. Please contact our sales team if you would like to place an order.
