Prototyping Consultancy

Prototyping is an important process in the design stages. There really is no better way to assess a product than to actually hold the product in your hand. We, therefore, incorporate prototyping as part of the product development process, creating test rigs, from models and visual models where appropriate. For this purpose, we carry out CNC machining, PCB manufacture and rapid prototype build. When specialist test rigs are to be created, we work with reliable, external suppliers. All prototyping services are carried out to incredibly high standards.

A Patent Agency or Attorney will be able to help the client secure a Patent, Trademark, Design Right or Copyright of the product. At Hillside Product Design, we have a wealth of experience when it comes to supporting all claims. We can provide detailed descriptions and supporting illustrations to help the process along and hopefully reduce the search, preparation and filing fees of the Patent Agency or Attorney. We offer advice and information where necessary to help our clients protect the intellectual property of their products. 

Statutory Directives

At Hillside Product Design, we have experience with a range of statutory directives such as RoHS Directive, the Machinery Directive, the Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive and the Low Voltage Directive. Our team also works closely with clients to assist in the preparation of Technical Construction Files to support self-certification to CE Marking when needed. Styling

Styling is an essential part of the design process and one that needs careful consideration if success in the market place is to be achieved. We often begin the styling process with pencil and paper sketches exploring various factors such as form, function and colour. These sketches can then be easily exported into CAD to form the building blocks of virtual models. From here, styling is refined and mechanical arrangements defined. We usually present concepts in 360degree fly-arounds, however other methods can be used.
