Much of that experience has been gained from working with high profile companies such as TOA Corporation PLC and BOSE Professional Audio, who demand a certain level of skill and quality from their employees. All of our technical staff are employed full time by us and we never use subcontractors or freelance crew.

As part of our high quality installation service we offer a free on site consultation and survey of the area or venue to be used. We are able to look through and discuss architects plans as well as discuss the practicalities of putting in an induction loop system. Design Service

Installing audio and visual equipment, especially in large arenas or older buildings can often be a daunting process, especially knowing where to place equipment in order to use it to its full potential. Our free design service will work with you through all stages of the project and advise on where to place lighting, sound and video projection equipment to maximise the space you have. We can help with tendering process, as well as working with architects and consultants on every detail of the design no matter how complex.

Background Music

We offer a range of integrated background music systems for a wide variety of businesses and venues. Disabled Refuge Systems

All new non-residential buildings with more than one level are by law required to have a disabled refuge system. These systems allow users with restricted mobility to communicate with 999 services or staff should there be an urgent situation and they are stranded in the building. Disabled refuge systems conveniently link with other emergency aids on the premises including the fire alarm, disabled toilet alarm and fire telephone.

Lighting

Lighting effects are now an extremely important part of any event or show and can even just be used to change the ambience of the surroundings. Businesses and individual are increasingly looking for new and innovative ways to use lighting creatively to achieve spectacular results. Expression Media has a full range of lighting products to aid in this transformation. Lighting can be easily set up and controlled through a full lighting desk or just with an on/off switch.

Video Projection

Using video projection and display screens allows images and information to be shown to larger audiences and is incredibly useful for bigger venues. We supply monitors in sizes ranging from 7” to 18’ wide screen and we help venues decide where best to position the screen and projector. All our video projection systems are easy to operate and as with all our products we provide full training prior to use.

AV

In addition to our video projection and standard audio visual equipment we have other AV aids on offer for our customers that can be especially useful when addressing larger groups of people. Interactive white boards are a popular choice in schools and other educational areas as more students can see the presentation as opposed to being crowded round a small screen. Soundfield systems are particularly useful in helping to project the voices of teachers or lecturers and can be discreetly installed.

Churches

We have widespread experience working with churches of all faiths in helping them deliver messages to their congregation. We are sympathetic to the needs of churches and the difficulties faced in equipping these often large, magnificent building with the necessary technical tools. We can install sound, light and video systems discretely and with little disturbance as well as being able to fit induction loop systems to aid those parishioners with hearing difficulties.

Induction Loops

Induction loops are used in areas to help those that are hearing impaired understand the information or message that is being conveyed. Induction loops work by transmitting sound from various sources including sound systems, microphones and televisions, directly to a hearing aid equipped with a telecoil or 'T' position. Induction loops can be installed permanently or be portable for added convenience and are used in hotels, banks, shops, theatres, museums, schools, colleges and staff areas. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) made having induction loops available in buildings a legal requirement in 2004. Induction loops can be easily fitted with minimum disruption.

Portable loops

If installing a fitted induction loop is not an option we have several portable loops that can be used instead. A simple system is Portaloop, which is ideal for one to one conversations and sits on the table. Another alternative is a portable room system in which the loop cable is taped to the floor of the room being used with the input coming from a specific microphone or connected via the sound system. Finally we offer a flexible radio based system that is supplied with two parts, a microphone transmitter and a loop receiver. Set to group or individual mode it is the perfect solution for both private conversations and group discussions.

Counter Loop System

Counter loops are fitted to reception areas in leisure centres, hotels or medical facilities enabling the staff and customer to have an easily understood conversation. A simple system with the loop cable installed under the desk and controlled by a small amplifier, the system allows conversation of up to 1 metre and several can be installed in one line, which is ideal for banks. Requiring no additional staff operation, the system is easier to use and the customer simply turns their hearing aid to ‘T’ position is order to commence the dialogue.

Installed Room Systems

Wonderful for large venues when having induction loop facilities are required more often, including theatres, auditoriums, conference and meeting rooms, churches and community halls. This system is a permanent installation that consists of a cable that fits around the entire room perimeter. The input source can either come from a single microphone, a TV or linked to a sound system. Our design team can also help create low spill systems, allowing loops to work together and not obstruct each other.

TV listener Systems

An easy way for a hearing aid wearer to watch and enjoy the TV, the TV listener system creates a personal induction loop for the viewer by transmitting a signal to the receiver through a TV connection. Without absolutely any installation required, it can just be plugged into the TV used straight away; headphones can also be used instead of an induction loop if preferred.

Domestic/Home

To help improve the quality of life for hearing impaired users around the home, we are able to provide simple answers.  Our radio based portable system consisting of a microphone and transmitters can easily be adapted for many situations for both the home and personal use and can also be connected to the TV or other sound system. Furthermore, we provide a lounge induction loop system that allows the user to listen to the TV without it being turned up too high and also comes with microphone to help with conversations.
