Water Only

Water jet cutting is a process that gives an extremely high quality finish without discolouration. Water is pumped at pressures of up to 50,000 PSI through a sapphire or diamond orifice to produce a high velocity jet capable of cutting a wide range of materials (typically plastics, foams, wool etc.). The strength of the jet is determined by the size of the orifice. The process is extremely quick, meaning we handle any volume from prototypes to large batches. Maximum sheet size is 4000mm x 3000m. Maximum material thickness is 200mm.

Abrasive Cutting

Abrasive cutting works on a similar principle to water jet cutting. In fact, many of the processes are the same. Water is pumped at high velocity through an orifice, but instead of being directed straight onto the material, it first enters a mixing chamber where a controlled amount of abrasive materials are absorbed into the jet stream. The water and abrasive are then realigned in a focusing tube and are directed onto the subject material. Abrasive cutting allows hard materials such as ceramic, stainless steel, brass and aluminium to be cut without any tarnishing, and even the most intricate designs can be reproduced using these techniques.
