Metal Injection Moulding

Metal injection moulding is quite simply a process in manufacturing that involves the manipulation of metal or ceramic powders so that they behave like a plastic by mixing them with polymer binders to form a feedstock, which is then used to injection mould net shaped, precision components. MIM enhances product quality, reduces lead times and can enable significant cost savings of up to 50%. MIM can readily achieve intricate and complex geometries which are usually difficult and costly for traditional methods, and, detailed features such as internal and external threads, text and graphical symbols can be moulded too; eliminating the need for secondary operations.
