Econoplas Ltd is British family run business which produces
Aquadyne, a patented sustainable drainage material and plastic recycling
process.
Econoplas was set up in 1999 when current Managing Director John
Gaskarth, (a former science teacher and farmer) was trying to solve problems on
his own farm in North Yorkshire and realizing that existing solutions were
expensive and inadequate.
Aquadyne is his unique solution, an environmentally friendly drainage material produced exclusively by Econplas. It provides unparalleled drainage whilst having lower costs, quicker installation times and being more structurally stable that conventional drainage. Aquadyne is also very strong, (you can even drive vehicles over it!) and it will drain water faster than sand.
Since Aquadyne’s launch it has attracted business from all over the world . For more information please contact our office :Tel: 01723 58611 Fax: 01723 586543 Email: [email protected]
With its micro and macro porous nature it can
retain and reserve water easily without clogging. Better for our environment it
is also made out of 100% used recycled plastics, a basic and increasingly large
waste material.
Other benefits include:
Green roofs have a multitude of benefits and not
only look great; they make a great insulator, while adapting to climate change,
C02 reduction and improving biodiversity. Green roofs will also retain water,
reducing runoff and peak flows to our sewage system. The plant life and soil
acts a filter to rain water capturing airborne pollutants, and noxious gases
like nitrogen and phosphorus, creating an important habitat for flora and
fauna.

At Econoplas, we use
Aquadyne capillary substrate to bring life and the beauty of nature to urban
spaces. Whether you want a horizontal, pitched or vertical surface with walls,
free standing or a suspended construction, Aquadyne is fast, light,
simple to install and economic as well as beautiful.
Other benefits include thermal and energy saving properties, air filtration, reduced pollution and sound, as well as being a sustainable urban drainage system that is both a work of art and wonderfully tactile to touch.
Aquadyne provides the perfect drainage system for multi sports
pitches or for corporate use. Using Aquadyne drainage to construct or refurbish
high quality natural turf sports fields will provide a low cost, fast and
effective solution that is up to 20% cheaper than conventional drainage systems.
Other benefits include:
Aquadyne offers a unique strength and structural stability combine
with low weight making it ideal for use in engineering and construction. As a
highly sustainable material, Aquadyne can stand over 1000 tonnes of compression
stress (per m2) while retaining its superior drainage
characteristics, with a flow rate of more than 20lts per m2 per second. So it’s
an ideal material for construction use, which involves high compression and
heavy duty traffic.
Aquadyne also prides itself on being a carbon positive building material, as for every 200m (44m2) of Aquadyne up to 2 tonnes of C02 is saved. Aquadyne: a simple sustainable solution.
Being a superior filtration and infiltration material, Aquadyne’s
water treatment applications can have many uses. From septic tanks, water collection
plus water recycling on sports fields and green roofs to trickling biofilters
in water treatment systems and highway gullies for surface water run-off, and even
green latrines.
Aquadyne’s quality structure means that it is both stable, with a vast surface area and very high open pore structure.
