A strong management team is involved at all stages of the manufacturing  process, ensuring first-hand knowledge of the work as it progresses – important when straight answers are needed, and essential in meeting delivery deadlines.

A programme of continual product development keeps EMT/EHP at the very forefront of an extremely demanding market. We aim to retain this position with not only innovative hydraulic solutions, but with comprehensive supporting services.

Some of our products can be found listed in the sections below. To discover the range in its entirety, please head over to the EMT/EHP website. If you have any questions or would like to discuss a turnkey project with a member of the EMT/EHP design team, just give us a call on 01543 671011.

C Frame Presses

Our standard hydraulic presses are available in 5, 12, 15, 20, 30, 40 and 50 tonne capacities, and can be used in a variety of assembly, pressing and bending applications. They can also be used for various production and maintenance operations. Each machine is fitted with an interlocked guard to protect the operator – other guarding systems are available upon special request. All presses are built to order, which means custom specifications can be catered for. If you would like to discuss these with an EMT/EHP expert, please do not hesitate to call us on 01543 671011.

4-Column Presses

4-column presses are often chosen ahead of conventional C-frame machines because of their inherent versatility. Press capacities range from 0.5 – 500 tonnes, with single, double and multi-ram configuration of down and side stroking options. Ram speeds, meanwhile, can be varied to meet your own specifications. Operation can be anything from a simple hand-lever valve to a fully automated PLC control, while guarding options include manual, automatic, light guarding and more. Platens may be fixed, moving, heated or T-slotted. In short, customers can decide upon most of their machine’s configuration themselves.

Horizontal Presses

EMT/EHP offers a range of horizontal hydraulic presses, each equipped with an adjustable end carriage for maximum flexibility. You can find some examples of our horizontal presses on the EMT/EHP website. If you would like any further information, please contact us directly on 01543 671011. Virtually all of our presses can be tailored according to our customers’ specifications.

Workshop Presses

As well as a comprehensive range of precision presses, EMT/EHP also produces simple workshop presses with capacities of up to 100 tonnes. Rugged, reliable and easy to operate, they are ideal for many basic engineering applications. Each press is supplied with a power pack or hand-operated hydraulic pump. Full details and specifications can be found on the EMT/EHP website. For all product enquiries, please contact us on 01543 671011.

Fly Press

All of our single-sided presses have semi-steel bodies and a Girder-type frame designed to place the metal where greater strength is obtainable. Despite their relative low weight, these presses have a stronger build that most comparable models, and also feature a more attractive design. The press screw is made with heat-treated nickel steel capable of withstanding a combination of torsional and bending strains that may be placed upon it. For the slides, clip stops, holding-down dogs, puller-off and fly handles, a drop forging technique is used. The slide is tested and guaranteed to align correctly in place, allowing the material to be finished off with greater precision.

Toggle Press

We currently offer two toggle press models:

  • H3 (1 ton capacity) – with 64mm throat depth, 46mm stroke and 114 x 203mm table.
  • H5 (2 ton capacity) – with 89mm throat depth, 59mm stroke and 153 x 266mm table.

For more information about any of our fly and toggle presses, please get in touch with our technical sales department on 01543 671011.

Test Plants

EMT/EHP also manufactures test plants used for the final testing of assembled components and for checking performance. Like most of our products, these are manufactured to customer specification. On our website you can find some examples of the test plants manufactured by EMT/EHP in the past. To discuss your own requirements with a member of the EMT/EHP design team, please contact us directly on 01543 671011.

Material Handling

Other special products manufactured by EMT/EHP include conveyors and material handling machines. Again, these are manufactured according to customer specification, but you can find some examples of systems built by our engineers in the past on the EMT/EHP website. Our materials handling equipment can be found in use on countless assembly lines throughout the United Kingdom and beyond.

Special Purpose Presses

By popular demand, the selection of specially made and special purpose presses that we offer has been significantly extended. These include: twin-ram assembly presses designed for automotive EGR heat exchangers; multi-day heated press machines; and 12-tonne capacity presses with tailored double-sided frames and detached hydraulic tanks for assembling axles. For more information about these and other customised presses, simply email or phone us.

Press Tooling

In response to numerous requests from our clients around the globe, we’ve added specially designed and manufactured press tools (such as those which produce semi-circular clips) to our already extensive range of products. If you’d like us to make you a bespoke press tool, just contact our technical sales department and we’ll be delighted to help meet your brief!

Dedicated Machines

There are all sorts of specialised equipment available for your assembly and machining needs. Don’t splash out on expensive capital projects before you’ve talked to our engineers! They’ll look at your highest level projects with an eye to keeping costs to a minimum. For example, our machine which produces engine crankshaft damper hubs loads components automatically after an initial machining operation. It correctly positions, pre-drills and counter-bores the components before tapping the threads. A stage of blow-out cleaning is succeeded by automatic chucking before the components are released to a chute for unloading. Just one example of the efficiency of our dedicated machinery.

Super Plastics Hot Metal Forming

Historically fabrication of complex sheet metal components involved an intricate combination of cutting, grinding, stretching and matching rough shaped component elements with final assembly often requiring welding, riveting, and various other fastening methods. Today, a much more affordable aternative manufacturing solution is to use near-net shape processes such as SuperPlastic Forming (SPF) or Hot Forming (HF).

Superplastic Forming is a process by which extremely complex parts are produced from a single sheet of superplastic material. Superplasticity is the ability of material to undergo extreme elongation allowing for deep drawn, intricate shapes. Several Titanium alloys are superplastic, as are many specially formulated aluminium, stainless steel and Inconel alloys.
