Conventional Printed Circuit Board Assembly

Diatron Assembly Systems uses a hand or automatic process to construct our printed circuit boards (PCB). Our PCBs are assembled to the highest quality and specification standards and are thoroughly inspected post assembly by our experts for both placement and solder defects. We can provide customer assistance in the form of expert advice when it comes to any issues with complex electronic assembly as well as recommending the optimum cost effective construction methods. Most of our PCB assemblies can be inspected using our automated optical inspection (AOI) equipment. We welcome enquiries from customers regarding our range of PCB assembly services.

Mixed Technology Printed Circuit Board Assembly

Our expert assemblers have the experience and equipment to manufacture a variety of mixed technology printed circuit boards. We can now offer surface mount only printed circuit boards, which are available lead free or tin lead reflow soldered. Our CMS400DLF flow soldering equipment allows us to manufacture either conventional or mixed technology PCBs that are completely lead free. We use an automated optical inspection (AOI) process to inspect most of our assemblies in order to ensure that our PCB assemblies are up to the highest standards as required by some of the most demanding markets such as the medical and industrial sectors.

Complete Instrumentation Assembly

Over the last 20 years our in house expertise has continually evolved so that we can turn fully tested PCBs into finished products. Our skills in mechanical assembly, electronic testing and cable harnessing ensure a professional end product to the highest standard. We use a range of precision electro-optical processes including infra-red transmissions capable of precise adjustments as well as understanding the importance of the highest standards of cleanliness during the assembly process. Our skills have made us the first point of call when it comes to the precision assembly required for complex devices and equipment used in the medical and scientific equipment market.

Inspection Process

Our assemblies are conducted using the most rigorous inspection process both during and post assembly. We use an automated optical inspection (AOI) machine to inspect most of our assemblies to ensure we continue to provide equipment that matches and exceeds our customer’s expectations. Our trained personnel also manually inspect products such as prototypes, cables and mechanical assemblies, and will undertake this inspection, when necessary, using dynoscopic equipment. Product quality is vital in order to ensure the survival of our business and our products will not be supplied to our customers until they have been fully tested and inspected to our stringent inspection process.

Surface Mount Printed Circuit Board Assembly

At Diatron Assembly Systems we can offer hand-made prototypes through to high volume production using our pick and place machinery. We have the skills to place fine pitch devices as well as Ball Grid Array (BGA) using precise laser and vision alignment. We are happy to advise and recommend on the correct and most cost effective construction methods to meet your specific requirements. We are also capable of offering both lead free soldering and tin lead soldering processes depending on your specifications as well as assembly testing to your requirements. Our History

Diatron Assembly Systems was founded in 1991 in a small industrial unit in Norwich with a total of four employees experienced in PCB assembly. By 1994, thanks to our growing reputation for reliability and quality products, we had moved premises to a modern 3,300sq metre and our employee number grew to 22 by the year 2000. Diatron Assembly Systems have continued to grow and evolve over the years and have invested in new technology, training and equipment to make us one of the market leaders in our field. Our aim for the future is to continue to provide our national and international customers with the highest levels of services and products available.

Reworking and Refitting

In 2009, Diatron Assembly Systems purchased its state of the art Ersa IR550 surface mount rework station. The addition of the Ersa IR550 surface mount rework station means we are able to move, refit or rework a wider range of surface mounted components including fine pitch ball grid array (BGA) and land grid arrays (LGA).  We believe it is important to invest in the latest technology to enable our company to offer our customers the best products we can.
