At Caintech Ltd our watchword is reliability.  Our staff have a wealth of expertise that they continue to build on across all areas, resulting in a thoroughly reliable service that ensures our clients keep coming back.  Initially established in 1988, working within the offshore oil sector, Caintech expanded in 2005 to include construction, land and hydrographic surveys.  Our services today include topographical, hydrographic and dimensional control surveys; all aspects of setting out roads, bridges, drainage, earthworks and more; laser scanning; CAD and quantity calculations and river cross-section surveys.   We deliver over 70 projects in the UK annually, as well as international projects in the oil industry in the US.   We use state of the art surveying equipment and our expert surveyors are dedicated to completing accurate and reliable projects delivered to time, budget and your specific requirements.

Beauly Denny Line

We are working with Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions in a remote part of Scotland to provide the major part of surveying services for the Beauly Denny Line.  In so doing we have to cope with an extreme environment and climate in rural Scotland.  In order to deal with the difficult conditions we work with GPS and with robotic total stations.  The varied work involves checking downleads and extensive foundation testing, as well as undertaking surveys of hills road and access roads.

Glendoe Hydro Scheme

Caintech Ltd played a major role in the Glendoe Hydro Scheme, being responsible for set out of the main 2.0m aqueduct.  Once again we found ourselves working in an extreme and inhospitable environment with challenging terrain and weather conditions.  Our remit was to set out or survey the work corridor and excavation extents and to survey all levels and produce accurate calculations of excavation quantities.  We set out blast lines and produced surveys of pipe, til and topsoil.  Using our comprehensive range of surveying services and expertise were able to successfully produce accurate surveys under very difficult circumstances, whilst ensuring that all safety requirements were met.

River Spey Cross-Section Survey

We carried out an extensive survey of the River Spey in Kingussie.  A total of 20 cross-sections were required.  Additionally, we surveyed 10 bridge structures, producing the relevant cross-sections.  Both boat and echo-sounder proved essential equipment, as the river was over 3m deep in places.  We were able to call on our considerable experience of river surveying to bring this project in on time and on budget, whilst always being mindful of safety.

Rock Armour to Sea Wall

We were responsible for all setting out and placement of 35,000 tons of rock armour to the sea wall at Longman in Inverness.  We worked to a tight remit to complete the job in only 8 weeks.  As the work could only be undertaken at low tide we needed the flexibility to do our surveying at various times to suit our client's working hours of 4 am to 10 pm, as well as to suit the tide.  Using our specialist surveying skills we were able to meet the tight time scale and complete the project successfully.
