Bioresins

As the name suggests, we supply a wide variety of bio-resins including PHA and PLA and can supply both of these for sheet, I.M., film, fibre, non-woven, foam and paper coating applications. For low-cost injection mouldings, we can also do a PP/Keratin blend. Additionally, for bin liner film we have a new type D and can also do thermoplastic starch for film extrusion for caddy and waste bags. Shrink Film

Shrink film encompasses many different types of uses, from food and beverage packaging and storage through to packaging for medicine - it’s essentially used to protect goods in transit and/or storage. Our high quality shrink film can be made to order and additionally, a suitable resin can also be supplied for film extrusion. Please note, whilst using this product, temperatures must not exceed 50°C at any time during transportation or storage. The film is completely biodegradable. Profile Extrusion

At Bioresins, we’ve devised a number of ways that Sogreen PHA and Emerald Keratin blends can be used, including being extruded into simple profiles like spacers or tubes on conventional equipment for example. Foam Extrusion

Sogreen 1001-A can be used in protective packaging and thermal insulation applications including mesh foam bags for fruit, fillers and cushion pads and foaming food service ware. It’s a modified polyester based on P(3,4HB). As well as possessing excellent mechanical qualities it is also fully biodegradable and is extremely well suited for extrusion foam production. Fibre & Non-woven

PHA Sogreen 2001-F has excellent mechanical properties as well as possessing characteristics of complete biodegradability. A modified polyester based on P(3,4HB), its typical applications are in non-woven fabric and fibre products and is suitable for filament extrusions. Sheet Extrusion

Disposable food packaging like thermoformed trays and other products including liners for cosmetic products form one of the principal markets for bio-based resins. Our products Sogreen 2001-A and Revode PLA can be thermoformed from extruded sheets into a variety of shapes on conventional equipment. Film Extrusion

We have four film extrusion products on our website including PHA Sogreen 2001-A, PHA Sogreen 2001-D, PHA Sogreen 2001-S and TPS DM-BSR-09. All prices quoted are for 25kg bags or boxes and include delivery. Our TPS DM-BSR-09 is a thermoplastic starch resin suitable for film extrusion for products including waste bags, caddy bags and refuse sacks. Injection Moulding

We can carry out injection moulding with all of our bio-resin products and can also do various blends of Sogreen PHA, Hisun PLA and Emerald Keratin. Additionally we can support a range of MFIs - up to 45g per 10 minutes with our materials. Applications

According to US market research there will be a strong expansion due to the demand for bioplastics through 2016. The recent technological advancements, innovations and increased production capacities will further enhance bioplastics’ properties. This in turn is predicted to make them more available, make them cheaper and overall increase their competitiveness with conventional polymers. The report also suggests that biodegradable bio-resins will represent more than 2/5^th of volume demand.
