AutoCoding Systems provides turnkey factory automation solutions for packaging applications across a range of industries. We specialise in the design, manufacture and supply of coding and packaging integrity systems, line monitoring systems and automatic pallet labelling equipment, as well as the provision of standard solutions for managing offline printing of case labels, tray-end label production and the control of promotional labelling.

AutoCoding

Our AutoCoding module all but eliminates the risk of coding or packaging errors by obtaining product data directly from a reliable source (such as the ERP system) rather than requiring operator intervention in the set-up of processes. Combined with a validation or inspection system it helps to streamline production whilst guaranteeing the accuracy of packaging data. Set-up and changeover times are reduced significantly thanks to automatic device set-up, and promotions, date concessions and process concessions can be handled with ease. Vision

Vision systems by themselves can deteriorate into line policemen which cause too many line stops. When used correctly within AutoCoding, they become powerful tools for driving up coding and packaging compliance and quality standards. Our cameras can be used to detect the presence of data codes, bar codes and flash codes, as well as to monitor their aesthetic quality and that of promotional labels and unique graphics/text. They can also be used to detect the presence of straws on drinks cartons. Levels of tolerance in terms of quality can be managed according customer requirements. Shoplogix

Available as stand-alone or integrated solutions, Shoplogix systems enable you to collect, store and present dynamic production data from individual lines, equipment and processes. Data is acquired using a combination of standard interfaces such as line PLCs, sensors, SCADA, ERP, etc. It can then be converted into useful management information via comprehensive dashboards, gauges and graphical summary reports. With this information you can monitor and measure the performance of each line, device, shift and run/job, allowing you to identify where improvements in efficiency can be made. Print Room

Our Offline Print Room gives you greater auditable control over the printing and issuing of coded packaging, labels or stickers to the correct product line. It eliminates the risk of the wrong packaging being issued, the wrong date being entered, and also prevents the use of pre-printed rogue packaging which may have been left on the line at the end of a job. To do this the system provides a unique traceability PIN for later validation at the line, thus ensuring that coded sleeves, labels, stickers, etc. are used on the correct line, with the correct product, on the correct day.

Traceability

In many cases companies have separate ‘islands’ of automatic traceability systems that are typically biased towards the product materials and do not account for the materials used in packaging. The traceability chain often disconnects at the packaging line and usually only restarts at case and pallet identification. AutoCoding Systems, however, can extend automatic traceability to include those materials issued and consumed at the packaging line itself, along with their accompanying coding and packaging control events, the date and time of which are recorded within the central database and made available for subsequent reporting. Quality

Our “paperless” quality control module automates in-line and off-line QA processes with data capture and subsequent reporting, reducing the burden on the factory’s QA function to capture evidence of compliance and quality.  Product specification data and visual images (captured by the line terminal’s hand scanner) are held in the secure AutoCoding system and can be viewed on-screen by Quality Assurance personnel when required. Pallet Labelling System

Many manufacturers in the UK and around the world will often produce a variety of goods for a range of customers, which makes correct identification and labelling of pallets especially important. Our Pallet Labelling System facilitates the auditable and controlled labelling of pallets from different lines with information such batch code, order ID, line ID and SKUs, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the EU Food Safety Regulation (EC) No 178/2002. Open architecture allows it to be integrated with any type of automatic labelling device and ensures compatibility with any data source.
