Injection Moulding

A K Industries are specialists in the production of injection moulded products to meet client specifications. We have in-depth experience in producing a wide range of injection moulded products to demanding specifications including combination demands such as specific aesthetic external finishes and close tolerances as well as polymers coloured to match specifications. AKI process all engineering polymers including polyesters, polysulphone, ABS and polycarbonate blends. In some instances a plastic component may not have the strength needed in order to be screwed to another part and in if this is the case then brass threaded inserts can be heat inserted into the part for additional strength. Tampo Pad Printing

Tampo Pad Printing is a cost-effective method of providing colour printing onto finished components to give a particular visual appearance. A K Industries use 1,2 and 3 colour pad printers as well as our 5 colour CNC printing machine to achieve specific product printing to client specifications. Pad printing is a highly reliable process involving microprocessor controlled machines, leading to a very high quality print designed to improve component value at cost-effective prices. Ultrasonic Welding

At A K Industries we are experts at utilising high-frequency acoustic vibrations to join two pieces of plastic together. This process is known as ultrasonic welding and no additional adhesives or connective parts are needed to join the plastics, which means a quicker joining process leading to cost and time saving benefits. Low Heat

A K Industries are involved in the development of a number of innovate projects such as the low grade heat exchanger developed for use in the domestic sector. Low grade heat exchange is a way to reuse/recycle heat energy from waste water used in domestic appliances such as dishwashers, washing machines and shower units. A low grade heat exchanger would recover 40% of the heat energy from these appliances in order to reduce the overall energy consumption in domestic homes by around 7%. This would result in a 1000kWh per home, per year saving or a saving of 10 billion kWh as a European total of a 6% target market. Medi Voice

The Medi Voice is another product we are proud to be involved with as part of our innovative projects range. The Medi Voice is a high quality but low cost, environmentally friendly, pharmaceutical packaging technology product. This product is used to ensure that blind, illiterate and elderly patients take the right medicines at the right time through means of an audio device or ‘talking technology’. Medi Voice utilises a recorded voice system to prompt patients to take the correct quantity of prescribed drugs at the correct time. As part of our complete new product realisation and optimisation (NPRO) process we can undertake a concept analysis and evaluation service. This will include analysing the customer, the market and includes idea generation. We will also analyse six macroevironmental factors for products including technological, political/legal, demographic, social/cultural, economic and natural factors. Rapid Prototype

Prototyping offers cost and time saving benefits for our customers and we offer two main types of prototype. Our comprehensive prototyping is a fully functioning and full sized product prototype while our focused prototype will not be fully functioning but is designed to examine specific product attributes.
