Description

Contract opportunity for de-silting works. The works are to create an access track into the site, for the works, including coppicing trees and retaining materials for later use. Stream flow is then to be diverted into an existing maintenance channel. The contractor will then prepare 3 receptor areas for receiving silt from de-silting activities. This includes coppicing, and in some places stump treatment of existing trees. Retaining structures are to be built using coppiced trees. A small area of damage to the retaining wall between the Lodge and maintenance channel is to be repaired using clean clay. Then 4000 cubic metres of sediment is to be excavated and transported into the receptor areas. The edges of the site are then to be planted with emergent and marginal vegetation, flow diverted back into the lodge and de-mobilisation and resintatement. Details of how to apply are available on the Ribble Rivers Trust website. A link is provided in this notice to the specific pages.
