Description

Project objectives

2.1.1 Traffic surveys to collate data on the section of the A5 between Longshoot and Dodwells. As shown on the drawing number 559863 - HE- HGN - 439743 293201 - SK - C - 002 Rev 01. The surveys include

2.1.2 Full classified 24 Hr 2-way volumetric count with OD between all points, Journey Times.

2.1.3 Two way walking and cycling counts at crossing points

2.1.4 Full Classified turning count and Queue survey at junction

2.1.5 Queue length surveys to record the maximum queue length in meters within each 5 minute period for each arm on designated junctions. up to a maximum of 500m from the stop line.

2.1.6 Prior to commencement of any works a full survey plan and programme is to be submitted in writing to Highways England for approval.

2.1.7 All site operatives must have successfully completed the Highways England EMAD Network Induction prior to undertaking any works on the Highway Network.

Scope of works

2.2.1 The works to be provided under this contract include the following:

Full classified turning count to be carried out over two consecutive days (Tuesday to Thursday inclusive) between 07:00 and19:00.

Turning counts capture to cover 12hour period from 07:00 to 19:00 on each survey day and aggregated into15 minute segments unless otherwise specified.

Turning counts to include all movements with fully classified volumetric counts in accordance with Design Manual for Roads and Bridges requirements.

Volumetric count to be carried out over 7 consecutive days covering all 2-way movements. Survey results to include OD between all points and Journey times.

Queue length surveys to record the maximum queue length in meters within each 5 minute period for each arm on designated junctions.

Journey time data to be aggregated by time at start of journey and include a minimum of 15 sample journeys per 15 minute period, per route (flows permitting).

Submission of all video data collected in digital format.

Walking & Cycling count to be classified by type of user and direction, aggregated by15 minute periods.
