Description

The University wishes to appoint a Contractor or Contractors to supply an X-ray cabinet irradiator. The equipment will be housed in the Dalton Cumbrian Facility, the University's research base at the Westlakes Science Park in Cumbria. The experimental equipment at the Dalton Cumbrian Facility forms part of the Henry Royce Institute, the UK's national centre for advanced materials research and innovation.

The Dalton Cumbrian Facility is an academic research centre in the area of radiation science, used by researchers from across academia and industry to study the effects of ionising radiation on materials and chemical and biological systems. The X-ray cabinet irradiator will add to the suite of experimental equipment already at the Dalton Cumbrian Facility, including two ion accelerators, a high-energy cobalt-60 gamma irradiator and a wide range of analytical instruments.
