Asbestos Management Surveys

Trident Surveying provides Asbestos Management Surveys in line with the latest HSE requirements and legislation. The Asbestos Management Survey (formerly known as the Type 2 Survey) is the minimum asbestos survey required under law for any commercial property built before 2000. This standard survey is carried out to locate and identify the presence and extent of any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) within the premises. The survey will include any maintenance activities that may need to be carried out and an assessment of materials will also be carried out. Demolition Surveys

We also provide professional Demolition Surveys. Formerly known as a Type 3 Survey, Demolition Surveys must be carried out before demolition to all or part of a building as required under the Construction (Design and Management Regulations as stated in the guidance for Regulation 4 in Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012).

The survey is carried out to locate and identify the presence and extent of any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) within the premises. Demolition Surveys are often more intrusive than Asbestos Management Surveys and may require access to areas that may produce damage and debris as a result.

Refurbishment Surveys

Refurbishment Surveys must also be carried out under the Construction (Design and Management Regulations as stated in the guidance for Regulation 4 in Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012). This type of survey is necessary to comply with the HSE for Regulation 4 ‘The Management of Asbestos in Non-Domestic Premises’ of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR2012). The survey is used to locate and identify the presence and extent of any Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) within the premises in the area where the refurbishment work will take place or in the whole building. Refurbishment surveys are intrusive and will involve destructive inspection.

Asbestos Testing/Sampling

Here at Trident Surveying, we also carry out asbestos testing/ sampling to determine whether a material contains asbestos. We collect a sample of the material and submit to an independent UKAS accredited laboratory for testing. At the laboratory, the material is analysed using state-of-the-art equipment in order to determine the presence of asbestos. If laboratory results prove asbestos to be present we can advise on the next steps to take. Please note, we do not carry out asbestos removal ourselves so all advice is impartial.
