Remediation

Sevenoaks Environmental Consultancy are experienced in designing and implementing site-specific remedial solutions to address any pollutant linkages – enabling us to create a cost-effective remedial plan. We know that each and every site is unique, which is why we undertake a fully comprehensive characterisation of every site in order to understand any challenges faced, in order to devise the correct remedial action. 
 
SEC have a wide range of remedial options that are available. Each remedial plan will take into account the cost, deadline, targets, end of use for the site and the environmental impact upon the site, in order to produce a unique Remediation Method Statement (or RMS). This is submitted to the Regulators and Planners for approval before any work is undertaken. During the process, SEC will carry out remedial validation, including the collection of documentation and site samples, as required, to ensure it meets approved targets and until final sign-off is achieved.

Ecological Surveys

SEC are dedicated to addressing the balance between nature conservation and development proposals, and our team have extensive experience within this area. We aim to provide new habitats and to integrate the local environment with the development as much as possible – benefiting both the development itself and diversifying the habitats for local flora and fauna. 
 
Our experienced Ecologists are committed to producing technical site surveys, as well as working with all aspects of the development’s team, in order to understand the full impact of the project. We also consult with local wildlife trusts and English nature, either informally or in order to obtain any necessary licenses for possible impact upon species.
 
The site survey will be unique to each project, and will be characterised by the specific environment. This may only require a preliminary English Nature Phase 1 Habitat Survey, or a full herpetological or invertebrate study by acknowledged experts within their specialist fields. Any possible impact upon protected species is often known to slow or affect development, but our experience within this field means that many problems can be overcome by expert advice and intervention at an early stage. In addition, our proactive approach to involve ecologists to benefit the local wildlife, through creating nearby wetland or wild meadows for example, ensures that positive management and forward planning can be a long term benefit to both the building project and the local environment.
