Fire Alarms

Almost all commercial and industrial premises are required by law to have a fire alarm system in place which is appropriate to the size of the building and the activities that take place within it. The system must also be routinely serviced by a qualified person. Failure to meet these obligations could lead to prosecution, prohibition or even imprisonment. At Safety Solutions we help you to stay on the right side of the law by providing you with a fire alarm system that conforms to British Standards and ensuring that it is serviced and maintained in compliance with government and industry regulations. Find out more by visiting Safety Solutions Ltd online.

Fire Extinguishers

All employers are responsible for ensuring their workplace is adequately equipped with fire fighting equipment. They are also required by law to ensure that the equipment is periodically inspected, maintained and tested. This should be done by a competent person on an annual basis. Safety Solutions will help you meet these responsibilities by providing you with fully compliant fire extinguishing equipment and servicing it according to government and industry regulations. Find out more by visiting Safety Solutions Ltd online.

Emergency Lighting

Emergency lighting is a legal requirement in just about all working environments and public spaces. The type and size of your premises and the risk to the occupants will determine exactly what is required, but an emergency escape lighting system will usually cover all exit doors, escape routes, corridor intersections, stairways, lifts, firefighting equipment, fire alarm call points and any equipment that would need to be shut down in the event of an emergency. Safety Solutions can supply, install and service a fully-compliant emergency lighting system to meet your specific site requirements. Visit us online or get in touch to find out more.

Fire Risk Assessments

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 stipulates that all business owners must make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risks to which employees and the general public are exposed for the purpose of identifying the fire precautions needed to protect them. Failure to carry out a fire risk assessment not only jeopardises your staff and/or visitors but also means you could be breaking the law.

Safety Solutions has completed over 2000 fire risk assessments on private and public sector premises since these regulations came into force. Whatever the size of your property, whatever the nature of your business, we’ll ensure all the risks are highlighted whilst making recommendations on how you can go about mitigating them.

Fire Safety & Extinguisher Training

Safety Solutions provides a range of safety training courses from its CIEH and HABC registered training centre. All of our trainers are fully qualified and wholly committed to helping you achieve your learning objectives.

Our Fire Safety and Extinguisher Training course aims to minimise the risk of fire by ensuring all employees know what basic actions they should take to prevent it from spreading. The workshop includes a practical extinguisher handling programme.

More information about this course can be found on the Safety Solutions website.

First Aid at Work Training

Under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations of 1981 and the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L74), all employers are required to have an adequate and appropriate First Aid Provision for their workforce. This means that there must be at least one person on site that is able to undertake First Aid duties at any given time (within working hours). Of course, this person must be fully qualified. Our First Aid at Work Training course covers all the practical skills needed by a first aider in the modern workplace and will give them the confidence and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies. Find out more about this course by visiting Safety Solutions online.

Fire Marshal/Warden Training

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order of 2005 requires you to have a sufficient number of competent staff who can perform evacuation duties. Safety Solutions’ Fire Marshal/Warden Training workshop is aimed at those members of staff who are identified in your emergency plan as having a supervisory role in the event of a fire. The workshop is designed to provide fire marshals/wardens with an understanding of the importance of fire safety and their duties so that they can act confidently and competently in the event of a fire. The course can be delivered on site or at our training centre in Northamptonshire.

Emergency First Aid at Work (1 Day)

Our one-day Emergency First Aid at Work course is suitable for low risk environments where there are fewer than 100 employees. The course meets all legislative requirements and will enable successful candidates to act as an emergency first aider in the workplace. As well as a certificate, successful candidates will receive a wallet-sized ID card which states that they are a qualified emergency first aider. The course can be delivered on site at your premises or at our training centre in Northamptonshire.

First Aid Annual Refresher Training

Our First Aid Refresher Course gives you the chance to practice and update your skills at any time during your three-year period as a qualified first aider. The Health & Safety Executive strongly recommends that first aiders attend a refresher session once a year during this three year period. The refresher course is only for those people who currently hold a First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid certificate. It is designed to build the delegate’s expertise and improve their confidence by involving them in hands-on practical first aid.

First Aid at Work Re-Qualification Training (2 day)

Our First Aid at Work Re-Qualification Training is aimed at first aiders who need to update their skills and renew their first aid at work certificate. To qualify for this course, the delegate’s existing certificate must still be valid. Re-Qualification Training aims to update and refresh the delegate’s knowledge of the first aid at work syllabus whilst allowing time for revision and practice sessions.

The course is delivered by qualified trainers either at your workplace or from our training centre in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Course

This course is aimed at qualified first aiders as well as medical professionals looking to improve their skills. The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and confidence required to operate an automated external defibrillator. It covers:

  • Resuscitation
