Our clients come both from within the United Kingdom and from further afield, but all have benefited from the high quality of our advice and support.

Whether you’re a one-person operation or the representative of a multinational corporation, we can brief you on every aspect of health safety requirements and legislation, give assistance with audits and risk assessments, or organise instruction on key subject areas. QHS Solutions run exemplary IOSH, CIEH and HABC-accredited courses and also provide bespoke training packages to meet your particular corporate requirements. By drawing on our vast experience within our sector, we’ll produce the appropriate solution to enable you to comply with your professional responsibilities, keep your employees appraised of current trends and produce the right systems for your business.

Accident Investigation & Reporting

Reduce the prevalence of accidents in your workplace with this helpful one-day course. It’s intended for anyone who has responsibility for investigating accidents, near misses and incidents and gives a full overview of why such events take place. Those attending will learn how to carry out incident and accident investigations and how to prepare associated reports. The course will help lower the level of accidents and incidents in your company and thereby lessen the costs connected with them. It will also enhance the safety culture within your organisation, boosting staff morale and diminishing the likelihood of potential legal action.

CDM Regulations 2007

Those working on construction sites or similar environments will find this full-day course invaluable. It gives a complete overview of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and will help delegates to plan and manage their construction projects while spotting potential hazards well in advance. The course clarifies the exact meaning of the CDM Regulations and deals with all the principal aspects of the subject. These include working at height; scaffolding; demolition; health and safety construction plans; construction risk and hazards; confined spaces; health hazards in construction; ladders; and much more. Group discussions, DVDs and handouts complement the course’s instruction.

CIEH L2 in H&S in the Workplace

Ensure that your employees understand how to keep the workplace healthy and safe for themselves, your customers and other visitors. On completing this one-day course, they’ll have gained an understanding of the tenets of accident prevention and of health and safety and will be able to make an active contribution to your own H&S management system. The course covers risks, hazards and chief causes of harm to employees; the importance of adhering to rules, systems and procedures; the significance of task design and workplace equipment; the role of individual action in reducing risks; and responsibilities of employees and employers. It can be tailored to suit your individual company set-up and circumstances.

CIEH L2 Manual Handling

Did you know that incorrect manual handling causes a third of over-three-day injuries reported to local authorities and Health Safety Executive every year? Such injuries take place in locations from farms, laboratories and factories to warehouse, building sites and banks. Based on theory, this half-day course covers the legislation connected with manual handling operations; fundamental anatomical and physiological principles; common manual handling injuries; groups at risk; kinetic lifting; identification and evaluation of current control measures;and suggesting additional control measures. An essential training unit for anyone requiring instruction in handing and lifting techniques.

CIEH L2/L3 Risk Assessment

QHS’s risk assessment courses have been created for those who regularly have to conduct risk assessments, such as site managers, engineers, technicians and quality controllers. They show how to administer risk assessment in accordance with the HSE’s Five Steps to Risk Assessment. Both courses assume a prior knowledge of the process. The Level 2 course offers a summary of workplace risk assessment principles and practice, while the Level 3 courses give a more detailed examination of extra controls and specialised assessments. After taking a course, delegates will be able to carry out risk assessments, organise their own programmes and advise employers on legal requirements and how to raise health and safety standards.

Construction Site Safety

Discover the best ways to avoid accidents while working on construction sites with our whole-day safety course. It identifies the main physical, ergonomic, biological and chemical risks on sites and considers subjects including: paints and solvents; signage; equipment; fire; noise; confined spaces; fibres and dust; viruses, moulds and bacteria; manual handling; trips, slips and falls; vapours, gases and fumes; and personal protective equipment. A very useful course for anyone taking the CSCS Health and Safety Test or for those who simply wish to make their working environment less accident-prone!

Fire Awareness in the Workplace

Although your staff may not be involved in planning workplace fire procedures, it is still useful for them to be aware of their nature. In this half-day course, appropriate behaviour during a fire is explained, along with evacuation methods and the identification of fire-fighting equipment. Other topics covered include fire legislation; causes of fires; fire precautions; prevention of fires; what to do when discovering a fire; and principles of combustion and extinction. The course features specifically developed interactive learning modules and satisfies the guidelines for fire awareness training laid down in Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Root Cause Analysis

Gain a better understanding of root cause analysis with this informative half-day course. RCA is the process of solving problems by addressing their root causes rather than simply tackling the most evident symptoms, which represents a more effective long-term solution. The course considers the processes of decision making and problem solving along with their complementary tools. It covers definitions of root causes; preventative and corrective actions; the process of solving problems; and examples deploying such techniques as brainstorming, the Ishikawa Diagram (Fishbone) and the five whys. Handouts, DVDs and group discussions help to reinforce the course’s content.
