Tool Making

As specialist engineers with a wealth of experience in the manufacture of mould tooling, master models and prototypes, PPB are able to handle even the largest, most complex projects. Our toolmakers have worked with a diverse range of materials and have produced close tolerance moulds for all kinds of products. Few other tooling firms can offer the levels of competence that PPB can, and fewer still can ensure a completely hassle-free procedure. We make things easy by handling all aspects of the tooling process, from your initial enquiry right through to delivery.

Batch Production

PPB are willing and able to undertake small batch production runs for research and development or pre-production styling purposes. This can be done at a cost-effective rate and within a very short timeframe to ensure both your budget and production deadlines are met. We can also offer small to medium scale production runs using CNC or manual machines.

Design

PPB is more than just a manufacturer. We’re able to draw upon a wealth of design experience to produce custom moulds that meet almost any engineering requirement. However complex your product, part or component, we can design a tool for it. Our design team uses a number of different programmes and can receive a variety of CAD/CAM file formats, including DXF, STL, IGES, DWG, ACIS, STEP and Parasolids. CNC

CNC technologies have revolutionised the field of engineering, improving speed, accuracy and enabling even the most complex parts to be produced at a cost effective rate. With a number of CAD/CAM compatible CNC machines at our disposal, we’re able to provide complex, close tolerance items extremely quickly and economically.

Capacity

As you would expect from a tool making company that has been supplying the Ministry of Defence and aircraft industries since the early 1960s and, later, automotive and associated industries, we have an impressive range of top quality equipment.  We make sure we have all the tools necessary to produce superior products.  In our tool room/machine shop we utilise a variety of mills, milling centres, lathes and grinders, etc, to turn out high quality products.  Our model/pattern shop is fully equipped with a selection of sanders, saws, grinders, with all equipment conforming fully to Health and Safety and COSHH requirements.  We also have a design/planning office with the tools needed for the highest quality design and planning work.  You can see the full list of equipment on our website.

ISO Certification

We are proud to have held ISO certification for many years.  Our quality management system is monitored by NQA, who certify that our system meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 9001:2008 for the provision of jig and tool, master model, pattern making and sub-contract precision machining and services.  The certification, which is regularly monitored, is a confirmation of our ongoing commitment to quality.
