Battery Design Service

It is often the case that standard battery packs do not meet the demands of certain industry applications. As a solution, our highly skilled engineers work closely with clients to gain an understanding of the application that the battery pack is to be used for. They then design and create the most effective solutions that meets time deadlines and budgets. We have the capabilities and facilities to create prototypes in both small and large batch runs. For further information, please call us at PMBL and discuss your requirements with one of our battery specialists.

With more than ten years of experience in the industry, we are fully equipped to facilitate all types of battery requirements. We have the experience to provide products and services to various industries such as defence, deep sea, GPS tracking, mobility, marine, oil and gas, emergency lighting, OEM, computers, and more. We can create battery solutions of all shapes and sizes and can meet orders quickly so as to aid the smooth running of your business. Please contact us with your requirements to find out how we can help.

Varta Batteries

We are pleased to work with VARTA Microbattery GmbH - a global company that has been supplying Great Britain and Ireland with industrial and consumer battery solutions for almost 30 years. The partnership with Varta enables PMBL to provide our customers with the very best solutions. Core products of our NiMH Button Cells include built in pressure vent, low self-discharge, extended product lifetime of more than 1000 cycles, overcharge capability, deep discharge capability, high temperature cells for environments up to 85 degrees C, high rate cells, and cells ranging from 15mAh -600mAhh

Battery Types

We supply various types of batteries to our customers. These batteries can be alkaline, silver oxide, zinc, lithium ion, lithium manganese, lithium polymer, nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, and lead acid. With many years of experience within the industry we are well equipped to provide battery solutions that best suit your application/s. We will explain the advantages and limitations of our battery types so that the best solution for your application can be reached. Please contact us for further information regarding our battery range.

Alkeline Batteries

Our alkaline batteries can be advantageous over zinc-carbon cells. Alkaline batteries as a whole have developed in many ways during the years with major packaging and manufacturing techniques improving. They feature higher energy output, a longer shelf-life, better leakage resistance, and superior low temperature performance. Alkaline batteries are widely used for applications such as toys, radios, and flashlights where they provide excellent performance. Alkaline batteries are cost-effective energy solutions. Please contact us for further information regarding our alkaline batteries and how they may be suitable for your applications.

Silver Oxide Batteries

Silver oxide button cells feature high volumetric energy density and provide energy at relatively high current drains. These properties make the silver oxide battery an excellent solution for use with many miniature devices where space is limited such as hearing aids, watches, photographic equipment, and more. Silver oxide batteries are largely used in the electronics industry for this purpose. Silver oxide cells also tend to provide stable voltage, have a good shelf life and have the ability to operate in a wide range of temperatures. Please visit our website for further information.

Zinc Batteries

Zinc carbon and zinc chloride batteries are largely used in applications such as clocks, communications equipment, electronic calculators, flashlights, penlights, portable TVs and more. These batteries have been in the industry for many years and date back to the 1800s where they were first manufactured in the Unites States and then in Europe throughout the twentieth century. These batteries have a shelf life of two to three years and can operate in temperatures ranging between -5° C to +55° C. Compared to other battery options zinc batteries don’t always meet the grade but do provide short-term cost effective solutions.

Lithium Ion Batteries

Lithium is the lightest of all metals available and also has the greatest electrochemical potential as well as providing the largest energy density per weight. After many years of research into the safety and benefits of lithium batteries, the Li-ion battery was created and it continues to be the battery with the most potential on the market today. The Li-ion battery is low maintenance and has high cell voltage. Li-ion batteries are widely used for powering mobile phones and other related products. Please visit our website, or contact us at PMBL for further information regarding our Lithium Ion batteries.

Lithium Manganese Dioxide

Lithium manganese dioxide cells are largely used in applications such as photographic and electronic, security transmitters, smoke alarms, computer peripherals, communications equipment, cameras, personal organisers, memory backup, and lighting. They operate in temperatures between -20° C to +60° and have a shelf life of approximately 10 years at temperatures of 20° C. Lithium manganese dioxide cells are also available in cylindrical form and coin size form and are well suited to applications with high, continuous or pulse current requirements. Lithium manganese dioxide cells are similar to poly (carbon monofluoride) cells but offer approximately half the shelf life of these cells.

Lead Acid Batteries

History of the lead acid batteries dates back to the mid nineteenth century when lead acid was used to create the first rechargeable battery. Today, there are two main types of lead acid battery: sealed lead acid (SLA) and valve regulated lead acid (VRLA). The SLA features a capacity range of 0.2Ah to 30Ah and is suited to powering portable and wheeled applications, whereas the VRLA has a capacity range of 30Ah to several thousand Ah and is mostly used for powering stationary applications. These reliable batteries are cost-effective power solutions for many applications and are capable of high discharge rates. Please contact us with your requirements

Nickel Metal Hydride

Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are commonly used with various satellite applications across the world. These batteries are large and bulky in the form of high-pressure steel canisters. NiMH batteries feature high energy density and have many benefits over other power choices such as Ni-Cd batteries including environmental benefits, 30 - 40% higher capacity and less prone to memory. We manufacture NiMH batteries with cells from leading manufacturers Varta, GP, Saft, Sanyo, Emmerich, and others. Please visit the relevant section of our website for detailed information regarding our nickel metal hydride batteries, including advantages and disadvantages of these batteries compared to their counterparts.

Battery Chargers

We provide customers with a range of high quality, long-lasting battery chargers to complement various batteries in our range. Please contact us with your requirements so that we can advise and provide you with the best solutions.
