Used as the base of every grade of Nylacast material, PA 6 Natural is created using ionic polymerisation. With an exceptionally high tensile, flexural and compressive strength, PA 6 is used in a wide range of applications. Created 42 years ago, Nylacast Oilon was the first lubricated nylon available on the market. Introduced in 1989, Nylube built upon the success of Oilon by offering the same lubricating properties but with a substantial improvement in wear resistance. A copolymer of Nylon 6 and Nylon 12, Aquanyl PA 6/12 is created using the anionic polymerisation process. PA 6/12 has improved on its constituents by reducing water absorption and increasing stability and impact strength. Part of the Cast Nylon 6 family, Moly differs from other polymers thanks to the addition of Molybdenum Disulphate which improves crystallisation. Moly benefits from lower water absorption, improved compressive strength, improved wear and antifriction properties and of course, it's also self-lubricating. As the name suggests, Nylacast Impact has been created for high impact applications. As well as standing up to high stress situations, impact is also excellent for noise reduction. Furthermore, Nylacast Impact has excellent resistance to thermal, chemical and mechanical stressors. These special grade materials include, Nylubed Glass Filled (higher compressive strength), Nylube MO (enhanced load bearing capabilities), Nylube Food Grade (FDA approved for food and pharmaceutical use) and NYLASTAT (suitable for certified ATEX zones).
