The company was established in 1947 and has developed year upon year in order to meet the ever-changing demands of the industry.
Today, MRT Castings Ltd offers a range of services including: High Pressure Die Casting, Gravity Die Casting, Aluminium Casting, Toolmaking, CNC Machining, Surface Finishing and Assembly. We also offer advice and support for designers of non-ferrous castings, covering areas such as casting methods, alloy selection, machining considerations and surface finishing.
MRT Castings Ltd is pleased to manufacture and supply top quality components to clients in a range of industries including Electronics, Defence, Communications, Medical, Marine and General Engineering.
Please read on and/or visit our website to find out more about our products and services. Alternatively, please contact our friendly team at MRT Castings Ltd with your requirements/ enquiries.
High Pressure Aluminium Casting: we use state-of-the-art high pressure aluminium casting machines featuring locking forces of between 220 and 530 tonnes. The production process features the injection of molten aluminium into a hardened steel mould or die at high pressure in order to form products.
Gravity Aluminium Casting: we use a range of microprocessor controlled hydraulic gravity aluminium casting machines to carry out gravity aluminium casting. Gravity is used to fill a permanent mould or die with molten aluminium.
Sand Aluminium Casting: this casting method is the simplest of the three and features low tooling costs. Complex shaped aluminium castings can be achieved.
Please contact us at MRT Castings Ltd for further information.
Here at MRT Castings Ltd, we use state-of-the-art high pressure die casting machines that feature locking forces from between 220 and 530 tonne, microprocessor control, computerised real-time shot control, automatic ladling and die-spray, and automatic casting extraction and cooling.
High pressure die casting provides the shortest route from molten metal to completed component. It is a cost effective method of production that is widely used to produce components for clients in hi-tech industries where product appearance and tolerances are critical.
At MRT Castings Ltd, we offer all the advice and information you may need to achieve premium quality components.
We are also pleased to operate a fantastic range of microprocessor controlled hydraulic gravity die casting machines which mechanise movements of the die, increase production rates and improve consistency. Our highly skilled team can supply castings to all standard heat treatment specifications and for non-destructive testing we can provide x-ray, dye penetrant and pressure testing services.
At MRT, we are committed to providing top quality services at all times. Our in-house quality control procedures are backed up in-house by our ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. We offer full advice and support to help customers optimise designs and achieve the best results.
MRT Castings Ltd has a wealth of experience when it comes to the design, manufacture and running of die cast tooling. In fact, with 60 years’ experience under our belt, we can help meet a wide range of customer requirements.
Examples include:
Our engineers project manage toolmaking from design stages through to sampling and production. All new tools are fully sampled and submitted with full dimensional reports.
We are pleased to offer advice and support in a range of areas, including:
Choosing the best casting method for your component: the choice of casting method is usually based upon the estimated production volumes of the component along with other considerations such as dimensional accuracy and required surface finish.
Choosing the alloy: once the casting method has been chosen, designers can then look at alloy selection, taking into consideration mechanical and physical properties appropriate to the application and the casting process.
Machining considerations: please visit our website to find out more about minimum machine finish allowances.
Surface finishing: includes alochroming, anodising, assembly, painting, polishing, powder coating, shotblasting, ball burnishing, vibratory finishing and more.
MRT Castings Ltd is pleased to carry out mechanical assembly of components. This includes mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, testing, kitting and specialist packaging. We have the facilities to store components ready to be issued by our customers when required, or to be procured by our own purchasing and logistics team. Please contact us directly at MRT Castings Ltd with your requirements or to find out more.
Sand casting is widely used by customers who wish to create a small number of castings, complex shaped castings with intricate cores or large non-ferrous castings. Very low gas porosity can be achieved with sand casting and large casting sizes can also be accommodated. Other benefits include general versatility and low tooling costs. Sand castings are available in all Aluminium, Zinc and Copper Alloys. Please head over to our website to find out more about our sand casting services, or contact us directly at MRT Castings for more information or to discuss your requirements.
At MRT Castings, our highly skilled and experienced team carries out a range of activities using state-of-the-art equipment. Our modern CNC machining facilities enable us to meet customer requirements quickly and efficiently to the highest of standards. Strict quality control procedures are carried out at all stages of production to ensure premium quality results are achieved. Alongside our fantastic range of CNC machining equipment, we also create jigs and fixtures in our own tool room. This enables us to carry out projects in fast turnaround times and offer them at great prices. Please visit our website to find out more about our facilities and production capabilities.
In addition to offering our valued customers the extensive services of our foundry and machining division, MRT supplies a diverse range of metal surface finishing processes.
