Hainbuch Collet-style Clamping Systems

This category includes three main types of clamp:
  • SPANNTOP Modular – offers parallel/cylindrical clamping with optimal holding power. This rigid Collet-style clamp is quick and easy to changeover, significantly improving production efficiency.
  • SPANTOPP Combi Pull-Back – features a fixed end-stop for chucking work and a through-bore for bars. The Combi Pull-Back offers optimal holding power and excellent concentricity after clamping head changes.
  • SPANTOPP Combi Deadlength – features a combination of fixed clamping head, through-bore and end-stop. Enables radial clamping without axial movement of the work piece.

Visit our website to find out more about the SPANTOPP range of clamping systems.

MicroCentric

MicroCentric diaphragm chucks offer short set-up times, high accuracies (to two microns), and clamping forces ranging from 50 to 6,230 dN. They are available in a range of sizes (80mm to 300mm dia.), and are capable of running at speeds of up to 11,000 rpm. MicroCentric chucks are ideal for turning and grinding operations in which fully sealed workholding is required. Air pressure or drawtube force is used to move the piston towards the top jaws, thus opening the chuck for OD clamping. The chuck closes with the re-deformation of the diaphragm. This function is reversed for ID clamping. MicroCentric diaphragm chucks are available in four different styles to cover various applications. Please visit Leader Chuck Systems online to find out more.

Indexing chucks - Hewa

Hewa chucks are available in diameters ranging from 125mm to 500mm. Specifically designed to accommodate valve bodies and similar fittings, they feature interchangeable indexing plates and offer an outstanding indexing accuracy of +/- 2sec of arc. If you would like to find out more about the Hewa chuck range, please visit Leader Chuck Systems online or call us on 01827 700 000.

Large Bore Chucks - Gamet

Gamet GA series chucks are designed with an extra large through-hole to accommodate large parts. No job is too big for these high speed, dynamically balanced workholders. They are available in diameters from 90mm to 315mm, covering most application requirements. You can find more details and product specifications at Leader Chuck Systems online. For all other product enquiries, please contact us on 01827 700 000.

Mandrels - Hainbuch

Hainbuch expanding mandrels are ideal for gripping short lengths, splines, gears, bearings and parts with large diameters. They are available in a variety of sizes and styles to cover various clamping requirements. All models within the range feature a hardened chrome-nickel steel bush for enhanced durability and maximum concentricity. During manufacture, the clamping segments are separated and joined again in a special vulcanising process that guarantees the highest elasticity, clamping range and opening stroke – this makes loading the work piece extremely quick and easy. Visit Leader Chuck Systems online for more information on the Hainbuch range of expanding mandrels.

Leader MMCZ MMXZ Modular Vice Strips

MMCZ and MMXZ-series modular vice strips can be used individually or collectively (depending on the user’s throughput requirements and budget) to significantly increase productivity on vertical and horizontal machining centres, milling machines and grinders. Both varieties offer fast and accurate workholding, as well as outstanding power, exceptional rigidity, and great accessibility in confined spaces. They are available with a varying number of clamping positions (up to four).
  • MMCZ 501, 502, 503, 504 – utilise dual action vice jaws which are fixed to the base by dowel pins, thereby eliminating compound gripping force and ensuring a high level of stability.
  • MMXZ 55/502 – feature quick-change false jaws with positive dovetail location for continuous repeatability.

For more information and specifications, please visit Leader Chuck Systems online.

MicroCentric Quick-Change Chucks

MicroCentric Quick-Change Chucks are designed to accurately locate the top jaws previously machined on the chuck in order to maintain accuracy to within 0.005mm TIR. This is achieved without needing to re-machine the top jaws after changeover, which eliminates the most time-consuming process of jaw changing on precision chucks. Set-up time is thus significantly reduced, and production efficiency greatly enhanced. Chucking force is never compromised – the QC (Quick-Change) jaw system has been designed to provide exceptional rigidity. For detailed specifications, please visit Leader Chuck Systems online.

PosiStop Billet Location

PosiStop is an innovative, low-cost system designed to offer fast and consistent positive location of billets in lathe jaw chucks. It is available in several different sizes from 15 to 40mm (height), and is suitable for jaws up to 55mm wide. PosiStop systems are proven to enhance productivity in companies of all sizes with any number of turning machines – they are a cost-effective, flexible alternative to machining location faces or using home-made ‘spiders’, which in many circumstances are highly inconvenient.

Lathe chucks - Bison

Bison-Bial precision lathe chucks are made from forged steel or cast iron with ground or induction-hardened surfaces that meet the sliding, stability and durability parameters demanded by our customers. These high quality chucking systems are designed for demanding applications and are therefore fully inspected prior to leaving our factory. We test gripping force and run-out to ensure accuracy and in order to meet quality standards that far exceed those required by DIN. Only when these are met are the chucks given the Bison-Bial label of quality – a label that gives you complete assurance over accuracy and reliability.

Machine & Bench Vices - Bison

We also offer a wide range of Bison-Bial tool makers, precision vices and inspection vices, plus a selection of manual and automatic machine and bench vices. All of them are made to the very highest standard with top-class materials to ensure maximum holding reliability. Easy to set up and simple to use, Bison-Bial vices save time in a variety of day-to-day operations. Visit Leader Chuck Systems online to find out more.

Full Bore Collet Chucks - Lexair

Lexair Full Bore® chucks have been designed with lightweight jaws that offer exceptional grip at high spindle speeds. They feature a concentricity adjustment facility that improves set-up accuracy, as well as a visual force indicator to monitor force adjustments. Full Bore® chucks have a shorter body than 3 jaw chucks of equal diameter, which gives greater tool clearance. Die springs mounted in the axial plane provide the mechanical grip force, ensuring true “fixed-length” grip with no drawback and thus giving the machine operator more precise location ability.

Prodyne® Servo Collet Chuck - Lexair

Lexair Prodyne® fixed-length Servo Collet Chucks are designed specifically for use in programmable bar feeder applications where stock positioning accuracy is essential. They feature a patented “pull-to-close” design that maintains the position of the bar stock against the bar feeder pusher as the chuck closes, which means there is no requirement for a turret stop. Prodyne® collet chucks feature a patented wedge design that offers excellent gripping force regardless of spindle speed. Concentricity adjusters further increase the accuracy of the part being machined.

Tri-Grip collet closers - Lexair

Tri-Grip collet closers are suitable for both horizontal and vertical machining centre applications. A compact design, simplified plumbing and a patented “accessible-from-the-top” collet locking screw all ensure a faster changeout and infinite collet or part orientation. Working pressures of up to 5000 PSI and a drawtube force of 1.1 times the applied pressure means these advanced collet closers will provide enough grip for all your workholding requirements. Find out more by visiting Leader Chuck Systems online. If you require any help or advice, please contact us on 01827 700 000.

Pneumatic and Hydraulic Step Chucks - Lexiair

The Lexair range of pneumatic and hydraulic step chucks includes:
  • The Lexair 5C – designed for pneumatic applications up to 150 PSI or hydraulic applications up to 750 PSI.  5C models have a steel construction and feature an advanced, double-acting operation and a pull-back design.
  • The Lexair 16C – features an A2-5 spindle nose that accepts 16C collets up to 1-5/8 inches, 16C step chucks up to 6 inches (diameter), and expanding nose 16C collets for ID part holding. Maximum working pressure is 250 PSI in pneumatic applications and 450 PSI in hydraulic applications.
