If you’re looking for a hard wearing, low maintenance driveway, courtyard, walkway or road surface then Decra-Stone resin bonded surfacing will more than meet your expectations, whilst at the same time providing a beautiful finish. Decra-Stone is a surface treatment combining natural aggregates with high performance odourless epoxy resins to create a non permeable, hardwearing surface that doesn’t need weeding or raking, is environmentally friendly and as the aggregate is bonded there is very minimal migration of stones unlike standard gravel surfaces. We offer an extensive choice of aggregates ensuring your finished surface is suitable for your needs.
Decra-Set resin bound surfacing provides a similar beautiful, hardwearing finish as Decra-Stone, however it differs in that it is water permeable and supports the government’s Sustainable Urban Drainage System recommendations. By allowing water to drain through the product, flooding risks are alleviated plus it provides an excellent decorative surface around trees and foliage as the plants can benefit from natural watering and air circulation. HMS Decorative Surfacing Ltd is an official, accredited SureSet, KBI and Adbruf Installer along with our own brand products, all of which are available in a variety of colours and aggregate finishes. Its smooth finish makes it a particularly suitable treatment for paths, walkways and bicycle tracks.
HMS Treepit is a highly attractive finish for the base of trees. Its permeable nature is achieved using a highly porous open texture, which allows water and air to reach the tree roots. HMS offers an extensive choice of aggregates with a surface grading of between 6mm and 10mm. There are many advantages of using Treepit; it provides cost savings over traditional grilles, it can be swept using street cleaning machines, there is no movement or loss of stones, it is wheelchair and pushchair friendly plus it’s compliant with the government’s Sustainable Urban Drainage System recommendations.
Create the appearance of blocks, cobbles and slabs with our imprinted surfacing – a thermoplastic compound that is applied hot and then imprinted. Imprinted surfacing offers many advantages, notably the speed of application when compared to the laying of traditional cobbles or block paving, which means less traffic disruption when being applied to road surfaces. Its hardwearing nature, which is a result of metal and glass fibre reinforcement, makes it a popular surface choice for driveways, roads and parkways. It is also resistant to colour loss, and being available in a multitude of colours, makes it an ideal surface choice for traffic calming applications.
HMS Decorative Surfacing Ltd is the UKs leading installer of SafeLane® from Safecote, an aggregate overlay surface that uses epoxy resin in the application process and provides excellent advantages in freezing conditions. The unique SafeLane® aggregate absorbs de-icing chemicals which are then gradually released at below zero temperatures, meaning less salt is required and therefore reduced damage as a result of structural corrosion. The resins also prevent water penetration thus avoiding surface damage caused by moisture. These attributes make it an ideal surface application for cycle ways, footbridges, public transport boarding areas and loading bays and slip roads.
HMS Decorative Surfacing Ltd has a wealth of experience laying high friction surfacing and as BBA approved installers we are able to advise you on the most suitable solution for your specific requirements. High friction surfacing gains its anti-skid properties from a combination of epoxy resin finished with high PSV calcined bauxite aggregate. There are two different application processes; hot and cold, and we hold Type 1 accreditation for both; the highest accreditation available which allows us to install high friction processes to motorways and trunk roads. BBA approved products will always be used where appropriate, however we also supply non-BBA accredited surfaces which in some circumstances are more appropriate.
HMS Decorative Surfacing Ltd offer a wide variety of different coloured surfaces that are ideal for use in a number of different settings, including pedestrian zones, car parks, cycle and bus lanes and parking areas, and we will be delighted to advise you on the most suitable option for your specific requirements. ‘Coloured High Friction Surfacing’ achieves its colour by mixing pigmented resins to colour coated calcined bauxite. We also offer coloured surface systems from several different manufactures, in a wide choice of colours and aggregates to ensure we are able to provide the most suitable system for your requirements.
We are approved installers of Stirling Lloyd Sentinel Expansion Joints which provide the ideal solution for replacing deteriorating expansion joints on bridges and carriageways. This Asphaltic Plug Joint has to be specifically designed to provide small and medium gap expansion and its speedy installation is perfectly suited to busy roads as it minimises disruption time. We offer a range of different Flexi-Range products for repairing cracks and fretting in roads and paths including our own HAPAS/BBA certified Flexi-Band Plus material. There are five different options available and we will help you ascertain which is the most suitable for your needs based on the crack location and the condition of the current surface. All treatments use a common sealant that is a blended polymer modified bituminous screed system enhanced with SBS polymers, bitumens, oils and extenders.
