Products

GF-GB Plastics are suppliers of plastics raw materials, both extruded and moulded, to engineering plastics processors throughout Europe. Our products are suitable for high performance applications in the mechanical and medial sectors. Building on over twenty years of experience, GF-GB have grown to become specialists in plastic rods, plastic sheet, plastic film and plastic tubing all of which we are able to cut to size and machine when required. Accredited to ISO9000, we source our products from all over the world. We hold an extensive range of common engineering plastics in stock from our Northamptonshire words, including Nylons, Acetals, Polycarbonate, Polyethylenes, Polypropylene and PVC. We also hold the super high performance Peek in stock as well as fluoropolymers and numerous antistatic and conductive plastics. Our various medical grades of plastic include Radel and Pomalux as well as the aforementioned Peek and Polypropylene. Our medical grades are available in a superb range of different colours to aid quick identification.

Engineering Plastics

A leading supplier of engineering plastics, GF-GB is able to provide every kind of semi finished plastic suitable for machining and other such processes. Our range includes Absylux, DuraPEEK, Norylux, Pomalux and Zelux. Norylux is a modified polyphenylene oxide that features superb thermal, electrical and mechanical properties. Norylux is highly dimensionally stable thanks to its low rates of moisture absorption and thermal expansion. Its low levels of moisture absorption also make Norylux ideal for applications involving the handling of fluids. Norylux is also frequently used for structural pieces and electrical housings due to its fantastic insulating properties and a great resistance to flame.

Medical Plastics

At GF-GB, our medical grade plastics are of a high purity and have been manufactured in order to be suitable for use with medical devices and to meet clinical standards. Full traceability of every ingredient and manufacturing stage is available for complete peace of mind. Our range includes MediPEEK-IM, Pomalux, Radel R5500, and Propylux HS2. Able to retain its dimensional integrity and maintain its stability in both water and the majority of chemicals at high temperatures, medical grade Pomalux is an acetal copolymer resin which can be supplied in a huge range of colours, as well as custom colours on request.

Compression Moulded Plastics

For applications which require engineering plastics to have a much greater stability that can typically found with extruded plastics, GF-GB can supply a range of compression moulded and moulded plastics. Also able to cope with higher filler loadings, our range of compression moulded and moulded plastics includes Absylux, Kynar, Norylux, Propylux and Zelux. A low cost option, Absylux is an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene that is ideally suited for use with structural components, especially in situations which call for good resistance to impact, as well as stiffness and strength. Absylux is also easy to, machine, fabricate, glue and paint.

Chemical Resistance Plastic

GF-GB carries an extensive selection of chemical resistance plastic products including ECTFE, HDPE, HIPS, Kynar 740, Kynar 1000, PEEK, Propylux and Propylux 290. ECTFE products are manufactured from HALAR, an ethylene-chlorotrifluoroethylene resin, and are almost entirely unaffected by the most commonly used corrosive chemicals. With fantastic mechanical and chemical properties, ECTFE products also feature great impact strength and can operate under a wide range of temperatures. For corrosion resistance under ambient and higher temperatures, GF-GB can provide Kynar 740 and Kynar 1000, both polyvinylidene difluoride resins. Both are also inherently UV stable, resistant to both flame and abrasion and are mechanically tough.

Static Control Products

For applications where electrical discharge is problematic, GF-GB is fully equipped to provide static control products which are most commonly used with circuit boards, integrated circuits and hard disk drives as well as with material handling, high-speed electronic printing applications and explosive environments. Our range includes Absylux CN-F, Absylux CN-P, Absylux SD-A, Lennite CN-P, Lennite SD-P, Pomalux SD-A, Propylux CN-F, Propylux CN-P, Propylux SD-A, PVDF CN-F, PVDF CN-P, Tempalux CN-F, ZELUX CN-P, ZELUX CN-SS, and ZELUX SD-P. Lennite CN-P is a conductive ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene which features high resistance to abrasion and high impact strength. Self-lubricating, Lennite CN-P is also lightweight, resistant to wear and easy to machine.

High Performance Plastics

GF-GB are fully equipped to provide a range of high performance plastic products including Ardel, PEEK, PES, Radel, Tempalux, Tempalux - glass filled, and Thermalux. A polyarylate, Ardel resin has been specially designed to be able to withstand UV light and the damage it can cause. We hold extruded stock shapes of Ardel which are able to rearrange themselves on a molecular level in order to form a protective layer against UV light which acts as a UV stabilizer. Ardel also features the ability to retain optical and mechanical properties to a high degree which, when combined with its stability under UV light, makes it ideally suited for applications subject to weathering.

Plastic Film

With an extensive selection of high performance Westlake plastic films extruded from a wide range of different engineering plastic resins in stock, GF-GB are confident that we can supply the right film to suit your exact requirements. Our range includes ECTFE film, PEEK, PES film, PMP film, PVDF film made from KYNAR, Thermalux film made from UDEL, and Tempalux film made from ULTEM. Our PVDF polyvinylidene difluoride resin film features high impact strength and tensile properties. PVDF is also fantastically resistant to creep and fatigue, when compared with many other thermoplastics, whilst still remaining transparent and flexible.

Service

GF-GB pride ourselves on being independent suppliers of high performance engineering plastics. As such, we are always on hand to provide a personal sourcing service in order to ensure that your project and budget requirements are met with the very best plastic product to suit. We are always happy to provide free advice over and above the extensive amount of information about our various products which can be found on our website. We are able to provide a huge range of machining options on our products and can cut to any size with no minimum sizes. Please feel free to call us for a quote or send your project details via email.
