Fluorescence spectrometer

We are also pleased to supply the LifeSpec II Fluorescence Spectrometer. This fully-integrated unit has been designed for use with high-repetition rate pulsed femtosecond and picosecond lasers. It is compatible with Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) techniques and requires a picosecond pulsed diode laser, pulsed LED or Ti:Sapphire laser for operation. The LifeSpec II features a temporally subtractive double monochromator for spectral resolution and for eliminating the effect of temporal dispersion. A range of data acquisition modes are available from fluorescence decay through to time-resolved spectra and automated time-resolved anisotropy measurements. The unit is height adjustable enabling the optical plane to sit between 130mm – 180mm.

Laser flash photolysis spectrometer

The LP920 Laser Flash Photolysis Spectrometer is a top quality fully-automated turnkey solution designed for research and routine laboratory applications. Its modular construction enables users to integrate accessories and upgrades and it can be customised to suit specific requirements. The LP920 spectrometer features a pulsed, high-intensity 450 W Xenon lamp to increase sensitivity in short timescales. Users can also select an optional lower-intensity, high stability halogen lamp for cw measurements over millisecond and second timescales. The LP920 series features the LP920-K (laser flash photolysis spectrometer kinetic mode), LP920 (laser flash photolysis spectrometer) and the LP920-S (laser flash photolysis spectrometer spectral mode). Please visit our website to view full product specifications.

Fluorescence spectrometer OB920 Series

The OB920 series includes a range of computer-controlled spectrometers featuring time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC) and multi-channel scaling (MCS) techniques to achieve reliable and accurate fluorescence and phosphorescence decays measurement. The series includes the OB920-t (fluorescence lifetime measurements), OB920-m (phosphorescence lifetime measurements) and OB920-tm (for fluorescence and phosphorescence lifetime measurements.

The OB920 series features advanced software for the automatic acquisition of measurements. Users can measure fluorescence and/or phosphorescence from 100ps to 10s. Units can be easily customised to suit specific requirements.

Please visit our website to find out more. Alternatively, please contact us at Edinburgh Instruments with your requirements or for further information.

Mini-Tau (mini-t) spectrometer

The Mini-Tau spectrometer is a fantastic unit designed to assist students with fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy applications including time-correlated single photon counting (TCSPC). The unit monitors fluorescence lifetimes of emitting dyes and enables students to gather information on molecular interactions and the micro-environment of the dyes.

The Mini-Tau is supplied with a computer incorporating the TCC900 plug-in card for fast data acquisition. Fluorescence lifetimes between 50ps and 50us can be measured and complex decay kinetics with up to four lifetimes can be analysed. Students can watch profiles build live on screen via the straight-forward user interface.

PL Series

The PL series of continuous wave (CW), infrared gas lasers is suitable for a range of applications including: molecular spectroscopy, non-linear optics, interferometry, process control, atmospheric studies, plasma density measurements and more. The PL Series features grating tuned CO2 lasers with step tunable wavelength from 9 - 11µm and models in this series feature single line powers from just a few Watts (Model PL2) up to 180W (Model PL5). All units in the range feature an invar rod frame to support the laser resonator as well as manually controlled diffraction gratings for line selection. Please visit our website to find out more about the PL Series.

MTL-5 - Mini Tea CO2 Laser

The MTL-5 is a bench-top, transverse excited atmospheric pressure (TEA), pulsed CO2 laser designed to suit a range of scientific applications. This compact unit features self-diagnostic testing and built-in, fail safe mechanisms for reliable and accurate monitoring of system performance and for system integrity support. It can be operated in multi-mode or single-mode and is supplied with a separate power supply. The MTL-5 features a cylindrical laser head that contains profiled electrodes to achieve a homogenous discharge and operation on 60 lines between 9.2 and 10.8 microns can be achieved via the grating tuning option.

FIR Series (Far Infrared Lasers / Terahertz lasers)

The FIR Series features a range of optically pumped, far infrared (FIR) lasers that have been expertly designed and created to suit applications that require coherent radiation within the spectral range of 40 microns to 1.22mm (the TeraHertz 0.25 to 7.5THz frequency range). These lasers are Invar bar stabilised and can feature single or dual output powers of 150mW and 500mW at 118 µm. They rely on the selective absorption of tunable infrared radiation to achieve population inversion between rotational states and generate laser action. Various accessories are available including coolers, gas handling systems, stabilisers and more.
