Design AV are able to provide our clients with full turnkey design and consultancy services. Before any work has begun, we ensure that we have fully understood the requirements of the brief and are supplying the right technology for the project. Design AV have found that working in this way not only gives customers’ confidence in our service and capabilities but also reduces mistakes and problems that can sometimes occur further down the line, which in turn reduces costs. In the past we have worked with clients on needs analysis, helped to prepare bids for tendering, project management and provided evaluation and comparisons on products. All of this is in addition to our design work that includes CAD & 3D design & visualisation as well as designing and specifying systems.

Design

Design is what we do best, after all it is part of our name and at Design AV believe that good design is all about getting the precise details right. We go over every part of our design meticulously and test it rigorously to make sure it is a workable solution to our client’s needs. We want our clients to be truly amazed by the finished product and more than exceed their expectations whilst at the same time creating a functional, robust system that meets their demands.

Build

We take each individual project on its own merits, we never try to recreate or utilise parts of other projects so we start afresh every time ensuring each design is totally unique. We listen to our clients, we want to understand what their finished vision will look like so we ask lots of questions to make sure we know how to approach their project in the most cost effective, reliable manner. We will only offer our build solution once we are entirely satisfied that we know what the client wants. Our installation team and project managers all have a huge range of experience and are highly trained. The service they offer our clients is friendly, trustworthy and they are committed to installing a first class system.

Support

Our aim at Design AV is to build lasting, ongoing relationships with our clients. As each of our systems is bespoke to the individual client so it is important that they have access to our specialist knowledge and skills in order to maintain the smooth running of the technology long term. We can provide our customers with a 24/7 telephone support and call out service as well as remote dial in diagnostics. We offer ongoing training on our products and can schedule preventative and service visits. We also have on site “in house” AV technical support personnel. Furthermore we can offer a full maintenance assessment of systems that have been installed by other providers.

Top Shop

Design AV were approached by Top Shop to install a new multi zone audio system in their flagship Bath store. We covered the four zones in the store with ceiling recessed loudspeakers from the JBL Control Contractor series. The loudspeakers needed to be custom painted to make certain that they were inconspicuous and fitted seamlessly in with the new ceiling detail. Crown XTi amplifiers with zoning, remote control and signal routing were used to provide power amplification and are managed with Clouds Z4 with RL6 remote source select/volume controls. The success of this project has led Top Shop to approach us to design two more stores in Carmarthen and Salisbury in addition to the services we provide to existing outlets.

Gloucestershire Tourism Board

Gloucester Civic Trust wanted to produce independent audio guides from German manufacturer Tonwelt and asked Design AV to work with them on creating the first batch.  These guides are a first in the UK and have been used to help promote the city centre’s historical buildings and monuments. Out of the six city tours planned, two have been completed and loaded onto the audio guides and are available from Civic Trusts HQ at St Michaels Tower or the Tourist Information Office to rent out.

Gothic Masterpiece

Memorial Building was built in 1912 and sits in the grounds of Bristol University, it is a stunning gothic building and we were tasked to install a new lighting and AV system so that the building’s technical performance and functionality could be expanded.

As the building features such unique architecture and is a beautiful space it was decided to use its own striking characteristics in conjunction with lighting to enrich the aesthetic splendour and make it a more appealing venue for events and functions. 

We soon realised that in order to fulfil the brief there would be a need to install more AV/IT services than originally thought, particularly in the Great Hall to maximise the space. The final project included a brand new sound reinforcement system, radio and hard wired microphone systems, video and data projection, Smart room control to include all AV systems, blinds, lighting and general room set up features.

Home Theatre

At Design AV we are often approached to create home theatres and recently we have had many requests from clients who are looking to have bespoke domestic AV installations. Our client’s requests range from just a single room display with surround sound applications to a full home cinema with multi room automation. We usually work on these projects with Armour Home, who are one of the UK’s largest distributors of home AV products and automation. Working in conjunction with them has enabled Design AV to create some truly innovative systems for our clients.
