Wetpour Surfacing

Wet pour surfaces combine maximum safety performance with outstanding durability and cost-effectiveness. They are created using a special formulation of rubber granules and polyurethane binders, and they consist of two layers. The first, a base layer, comprises of coarse black granules made from recycled tyre rubber, while the second, the top layer, is made using much finer rubber granules. This combination of layers offers the following benefits:

Multi-Use Games Areas MUGAs

Our Multi-Use Games Area (MUGA) surfaces are highly versatile and, as the name suggests, can be used for a multitude of applications. Designed to meet Sport England MUGA Type 2 and Type 4 specifications, they offer comfort, excellent grip, minimum risk of injury and fast drainage. They also require very little in the way of maintenance and are highly resistant to vandalism. Bonded Rubber Mulch

Often described as rubber bark, our bonded rubber mulch surfaces have a natural appearance and are ideal for any play area where safety is essential. They are made from a highly durable and environmentally friendly material (90% recycled), and they require very minimal groundwork preparation. Indeed, bonded rubber mulch surfaces can be installed directly on top of grass or hard standing surfaces such as tarmac. They can even be laid over areas that have tricky tree routes and other obstacles. Rubber mulch is fully porous and maintenance free – it requires no costly topping up of material, nor does it need regular raking.

Resin Bound Gravel

Our resin-bound gravel surfaces give an attractive, hard-wearing finish that’s fast-draining and maintenance free, making them ideal as an alternative to tarmac or concrete. Available in a range of colours, they are perfect for pathways, driveways, recreational areas and sensory areas. Design

The flexible nature of our surfaces permits the inclusion of any almost combination of graphics, colours, shapes and patterns, which means we can easily incorporate company logos, school crests and educational designs. Our aim is to deliver a seamless service with no hitches and no hassle, so you can just get on with your job while we get on with ours.

Wetpour Repair Kits & Maintenance

Should your wet pour surface ever need repairing, Abacus can offer two solutions. For small or emergency repairs we offer complete wet pour repair packs that allow you to complete the job without assistance. Packs include pre-measured quantities of rubber granules and binder, together with protective rubber gloves, installation instructions and all necessary health and safety information. For larger areas of damage we offer an onsite wet pour repair service where our experts come to you and complete all maintenance required. As well as replacing damaged or vandalised areas, we can also eliminate trip hazards and carry out complete overlays.
