3D Mould Design

3D mould design holds many key advantages of over older 2D methods, chief amongst which are the capability to design moulds that are far more complex and the ability to thoroughly inspect the design through interference checking. By using solid/surface model data generated during the mould design for split line and cavity/core creation, you can save valuable programming time and also eliminate mistakes caused by human error and drawing misinterpretation. This is particularly useful in an age where split lines are becoming more and more complex. 

 
We can supply/receive 3D modelling and drawing data in various formats, including DXF, DWG, IGES, VDA-FS, STEP, PARASOLID, STL, VRML and XGL. 2D designs can also be supplied in PDF format. 

Part / Product Design

Whether it’s a fledgling idea or a fully-formed concept, we can transform it into a 3D solid model which can be developed as the project progresses. The model can then be prototyped so that form, fit and functionality can all be tested. 

 
We can also produce visualisations for marketing purposes based on the solid model data – these often provide a valuable aid in meeting aesthetic requirements. 

 
When designing a product, we look at it from the mould making point of view. We only ever design parts/components for which a mould can actually be made – this eliminates the need for model modifications later on, which in turn significantly reduces time-to-market.
