2D Laser Process

Our 2D Foba lasers can create an engraved image or text with maximum precision on various materials. Simply send us your 2DXF outline file and 3D Lasertec will create a laser graphic based on your design. File formats such as AI, Bitmaps, CorelDraw, DWG, IEGS, and PDF are also accepted (though artwork charges will be incurred). Using different frequency settings which depend on the material and depth required, the laser then proceeds to engrave the graphic into the selected material before the final product is moulded to the customer's specifications.

3D Laser Process

Using the latest laser engraving technology in the form of the Foba G900 laser machine, we are able to engrave full 3D models in high-resolution directly into our customer's projects. This is achieved by focusing the laser below the surface of the material to create tiny fractures. Firstly, a DXF, EPS, or IGS outline file is imported into our system whereby 3D data will be generated. We also have the software to convert 2D CAD and vector files into the STL file format suitable for 3D engraving. Using CAM software, the material's layers are then engraved one by one whilst constant laser focus is maintained throughout the process. As each layer is gradually removed, the form of the 3D model becomes increasingly visible.

Laser basics

We accept most file formats and have the software to convert any 2D CAD outline or vector image into a 3D file. Simply submit your design along with information about the required quantity, material type, and depth of drawing to receive a quotation. Should our quote be satisfactory to your requirements, we will have your product ready within a maximum period of 3 days. We have a diverse range of fonts available for selection and offer the possibility to laser on coloured anodised parts. Our technologically advanced lasers can determine the formation of rough or smooth finishes, and texturing is also available in a wide array of patterns.
